Happy Summer Sugar Pies! It’s been a bit of a whirlwind at my house so far this season! I’ve had lots of friends and family come to visit! As I type this, I have all my kids and grand-babies here! It feels like Christmas! The little ones are taking naps so I thought I’d sneak into a quiet spot to finish up this post! I feel like I’m way behind on posting but I’ve had a lot on my plate…I know y’all understand!
Well, after a long, cold, winter I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to have the warm sunshine to wake up to! I couldn’t wait to pull out my green garlands and summery vintage tablecloths to brighten my home, sweet, home
I purchased this Farm Fresh Eggs sign at an antique mall a couple years ago (here’s a similar one!) and thought it would be a a happy & homey theme for my entryway. Many of you may recognize my vintage chicken yard-bird, Henrietta…I thought she would look so cute standing next to the old berry basket filled with eggs! She looks quite proud as if she laid them herself! Lol!!
I’ve had these cafe lights hanging here for quite a long time and these still make me happy when I see the cozy glow they create in the room. Somehow these lights always makes any space festive and cozy!
I also added my vintage cotton tablecloths to my old ladder. There’s no doubt in my mind that these sweet strawberry beauties hung out on the line after they were scrubbed clean. They are a little sun-faded and soft as butter. Ahhh! I love that! Make sure you watch my YouTube video on my Summer house tour to hear the sweet story behind the green and white plaid tablecloth from the 1940’s! I’ll put the link below!
I had this chippy frame that was put together with some old pieces of beadboard trim

Howdy-do dear Sugar Pie! I’m popping in to share a little sweetness with you! My dear sister-friend Christy Jordan of Southern Plate invites me every month to share a quick and easy decorating idea over at her place and I wanted to give you a peek at a few of my ideas! Christy is the author of 3 wonderful cookbooks, all of which I own and LOVE! Not only are her recipes truly delicious and southern (she lives in Alabama!) but her cookbooks are my favorite kind…they are filled with endearing stories that warm the heart! The one pictured above, Sweetness, is her latest…and it is a little sweet slice of heaven! You can find it here to get a look inside at a few of her yummy recipes, sweet stories and bright and happy pictures!
For the month of April I shared this sweet little bunny in a cookie jar idea over at Southern Plate! Once you have all of the materials you can put it together in 5 minutes! You can find my post here!
Another idea I shared were these pretty little pens that you’ll never lose! Have you ever been in a situation at home where you can’t find a pen but you need one real quick? Maybe you want to write down a recipe you heard on T.V. or make a quick note about something so you won’t forget or write a phone number down. It can be frustrating because know you must have a hundred pens in your house but you can’t find even one? Lol! Here’s an easy way to ensure you will be able to find a pen when you need it! See how to make them here!
Lastly, how about a sweet-as-pie bouquet in a cute can? I shared how I was at the market and saw these darling cans of pie filling. I love the labels! The style is so sweet and old fashioned. The charming illustrations of the fruit made me think of springtime and summer…and that made my heart happy! So I thought why not put a sunny and fresh bouquet in one! Click here to read that post!
It was like old home week when Christy came to Branson to do a cooking class at Silver Dollar City a while back. Christy’s the kind of gal that makes you wish she was your next door neighbor! She’s got a heart of gold and knows how to cook up a storm! I love to follow her on Facebook too! She does weekly video chats…it’s like she’s chatting over the backyard fence. You can find her here on Facebook.
Be sure to go grab some of her scrumptious recipes over at her website Southern Plate: here! And take a look at her yummy-licious Homemade Banana Pudding video below!
Well sister, in other news, I handed over my booth at Spring Creek Antique Mall to my good friends Sara and Abby from Sweet Magnolia’s Farm and they are doing an amazing job! Now I want to go shopping in my old booth! Lol! In the meantime I’m having a lot of fun putting together my online Amazon Country store! So far I have 4 departments:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
