Baker’s Edge Better Muffin Pan

Written by Aunt Ruthie on November 2nd, 2013

OH MY!2

Welcome to my newest Blue Ribbon Product review! Do you remember my review about the Baker’s Edge Brownie pan THE BEST BROWNIE PAN EV-AH? Well, the folks at Baker’s Edge have done it again!! They’ve created a BETTER muffin pan! In fact it’s called the Baker’s Edge Better Muffin Pan! I am so thrilled with this pan…(giddy really!!!)…that I just had to share it with you! Especially with the holidays just around the corner and all the treats we love making for family and friends, the timing couldn’t be more perfect!

BAKER'S EDGE321

Ok! So what’s BETTER about this Baker’s Edge Muffin Pan? Well, the structure of this pan is so sturdy and strong, I mean it’s so heavy-duty and durable you could probably drive a truck over it…but why would you want too? LOL! I’m just sayin’, this baby’s gonna last me a lifetime!  And because it’s so robustly-built it will never warp…not ev-ah!! My old muffin pans were thin, and would often scorch the bottoms of my cupcakes and muffins. Not so with this pan!  My favorite part about it is it’s wonderfully Non-Stick! That means absolutely no oils and sprays needed! It also comes with two easy-to-grip handles for your oven-mitt  thumb to hold on to…I don’t know how many times I’ve accidentally stuck my mitts into the batter! Not any more! Yay!!

I decided to try out my recipe for Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes with my new Better muffin pan (I’ll give you the link to the recipe at the end of this post). Mind you, I didn’t use any cooking sprays on the pan or cupcake liners and look how clean and intact the cupcakes came out.

Besides all of the fabulous features, I’m so excited to tell you the Baker’s Edge Better Muffin Pan is made in the U.S.A.!!! Hip! Hip! Hooray!!! God bless America…land that I LOVE!

aunt ruthie's tip2 I love that the space between the cups are much more narrow than standard muffin tins. With my old muffin pan I would always drip globs of  batter  that would end up  burning as the muffins were baking. One tip I finally learned is to use a 1/3 measuring cup to distribute the batter. There’s less spillage and the size of the cupcakes or muffins will be the same size.

Now y’all know that I LOVE everything vintage! I love incorporating practical, old fashioned and simple ways into my home-keeping. I look at this Better Muffin Pan as a sensible new way to bake my old recipes!  I don’t like wasting food by having to toss what I’ve just spent time and money baking because it got scorched on the bottom.  And we all know that once something we’ve cooked gets burnt, it won’t taste good, no matter how much frosting we pile on top!

BAKER'S EDGE PAN 5

Take a looky at how easy it was for me to lift out my Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes! I just used a mini silicone spatula. I didn’t clean the emptied cups for this photo shot, there were only a few crumbs here and there, so the clean up was easy-breezy-lemon-squeezy! In the past with my old muffin pans, I would have to soak them in hot soapy water for about an hour. Most of the time I would use paper liners when I made muffins and cupcakes, but when I didn’t have any on hand, I had to use non-stick cooking spray, which didn’t always work very well. With the Baker’s Edge Better Muffin Pan, their non-stick feature saves time and money.

Another unexpected but fun feature is the way the pan comes packaged and the cute little faces embossed on the bottom of the pan! How cute is that!! This pan would be the perfect gift for someone who loves to bake!

Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan Review!

Written by Aunt Ruthie on April 22nd, 2012

Welcome back to my Blue Ribbon Product Reviews page! It has been a long time since I posted a product review! I decided to get back into the swing of things by sharing with y’all about this fancy brownie pan!

Normally I love everything old fashioned and vintage but ya know what Sugar Pies? This newfangled non-stick Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan is absolutely wonderful!! In the past my brownies would sometimes sink in the middle when I used a 9 x 13 pan and it would also be goopy  in the center. But not with this pan! Every brownie comes out perfect. The sides are chewy and the middle is melt-in-your-mouth moist and soft. The cooking time is about 8 to 10 minutes less too! Just whip up your favorite 9 x 13 brownie recipe or box mix in a batter bowl (the kind with handle and a pour spout works best!) and pour the batter into the pan. I use a rubber spatula to help guide every drop of chocolate goodness into the pan.

You can smooth the batter with a spoon to make sure it is evenly distributed. Then bake for about 8 to 10 minutes less than the required cooking time.  With the handles on both sides it makes it so easy to pull the pan out of the oven too!

The Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan comes with this cute little spatula which makes it so easy to cut and slide out your brownies!

Each piece comes out perfectly to wrap for picnics, road trips or any on-the-go- family fun activities. Of course you can make a lot of other yummy goodies with this pan too! Coffee Cakes, blueberry muffin squares, baked Mac ‘n’ Cheese Squares, cornbread, cookie bars, Banana Nut bread bars and so much more! Because of the unique construction everything cooks quickly and evenly.

I highly recommend the Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan! It gets my Blue Ribbon Seal of Approval!

dsc07314I love the brownie recipe from Baker’s Chocolate but I have to say that I also love the Duncan Hines (Family Size) Brownie Mix too! It’s so delicious that I keep a box or two in my pantry for when I need to whip up a quick treat and don’t have time to bake from scratch. I like my brownies plain but if you like yours with frosting this is my favorite frosting recipe…the one change to the frosting recipe that I do is I only use 2 squares of Baker’s Unsweetened Chocolate instead of 4. YUMMY!
