We had to wait for all my kids to get here
Christmas morning, my dear hubby
getting ready to read the Christmas story from the Bible.
Christmas dinner included lots of smiles and laughter along with a Standing Rib Roast, Pork Loin Roast, Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar Pecan Topping, Broccoli Cheese Casserole, Potatoes, Corn pudding, a refreshing Grape Salad, steaming fresh hot rolls with butter and lots more…..for dessert we had German Chocolate Cake, Blackberry Pie (of course!) my mother-in -laws famous Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apple-Pecan Pie, Rice Krispie Treats, Homemade Buck-eye Candy, and more! On our table you will see this delicious bottle of
Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple-Pomegranate Juice.
Here is my wonderful sister-in-law and one of my best friends, Linda and her husband Jon. I married Linda’s cute brother about 29 years ago! So our friendship goes way back to the olden days! She is one talented girl!!! She can do just about anything. She is a writer, a house designer , a fabulous knitter….um… she knitted a sweater for herself that is unbelievable…she’s a wonderful mom of four kids….well, I could go on and on but my fingers would get such a cramp from typing it all! We do love to go antiquing and eat at Tea rooms together!
We had fireside entertainment! My daughter Summer Rose and I played together…or should I say squeaked together! We’ve only been playing violin for about 6 months, but hey, we know 6 songs! We keep encouraging each other…practice makes perfect!
Okay, this picture was taken about 9 years ago (as you can see by my interesting hair-do! What was I thinkin’?! Of course, 10 years from now I’ll probably say the same thing about my current hair-do!). We went to one of those Shopping Mall photographers, where you can get your pictures in an hour. This was the photographers idea to pile the kids on Dad like they were riding on a sled! Weeeeeeee! We thought it was so funny that we decided to re-create it again…..
Little Summer Rose wanted to go for a ride too!
Then the new additions to our family,
Glen and Kimmy, wanted in on the fun! Woo-hoo!
I have to say that my dear hubby Gary was a good sport!
Well, that’s all for now. My posts in the next couple of weeks may be sporatic because we are on a family trip. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful-fabulous-delightful comments! What a joy to read them, you girls are the best! I am excited about the new year and I hope that you all receive many sweet blessings from our gracious Lord Jesus in 2008!
Thanks for stopping by for pie!
Hugs!
Ruthann

Great post! I love the size of your table. My family has added our first daughter in law this year and a bigger table will be in our future.
This made me laugh!

mmmm, your dinner sounds delish! I’d love to stop by sit on the porch and eat some lemon pie! You make me want to go home be all domestic – welcome modern day “Martha Stewart” with a nod to the 50’s!!!
Hi, wow you have a beautiful family and a gorgeous home. I think we would be great friends because I love pie too! I am an Italian girl (well 1/2-scottish also) and I want to live at Disney too! When I am about 99 years old and I can barely walk, I want to work at Disney. Maybe they would let me smile at the kids all day and pay me-or I will just work for food! God Bless. Tina :)
Where do you find those pictures of people years gone by
Thank you
Shirley
By the way, love your site
