Hi Pat! Here’s the link to my pie crust recipe!http://sugarpiefarmhouse.com/aunt-ruthies-all-butter-pie-crust
Thank you for recipe, but how does all that fruit fit into one- 10 inch pie?
Will all of that fruit fit into a standard 10″ pie plate? Should I use a deep dish pie plate? Sounds really interesting. Anyone had success with this pie?
Good gravy that looks deeelicious!
Oh my this is one of my favorite pies! I’m fortunate enough to live just a hop, skip and jump away from Royer’s. My daughter Grace and I love going just for the pies! Although the rest of the food is fabulous too…….
on your directions for this pie, when you say bring all fruit to a boil-so we want the fruit to get tender or sort of mushy? and should I let it cool down for a bit, or pour it boiling into a frozen pie crust? not sure what you mean in that part. Thanks for your time-I plan on making this pie for thanksgiving, and want to make sure.
My niece made the junkberry pie and entered it in the fair and rodeo competition. I helped with the baking. We drained the juice off the Berry mixture added cornstarch as a thickener, even though I didn’t see this in your recipe. After the pie cooled completely, it was still a lot of juice. This was the only thing counted against the pie in the judging. The taste was rated perfect. What could have caused this? We chose this pie because it’s our favorite when we visit Royers in RoundTop!! Thank you!!
Made this a few times and it is always a big hit
I live this pie and have made it several times. I’ve learned to put fruit together and bake. First time I cooked fruit it blended together in a big red mess. It’s a top knotch pie and delicious. Wonderful recipe especially the sour cream topping.
