Howdy Sugar Pies! Every month or so I get to contribute some farmhousey decorating goodness over at Christy Jordan’s Southern Plate! This idea isn’t only cute but it’s practical! It sure makes cooking dinner a lot more enjoyable to have a few of the things I need handy in a pretty setting! Come on over to Southern Plate to read all about my Cute Country Kitchen Cooking Tray!
While you’re over at Southern Plate be sure to browse Christy’s wonderful Southern recipes! She’s an Alabama girl and sure knows southern cooking! Christy is also the author of three Cookbooks that are on the top of my favorites list!
Oh. This. Sweet. Book! Squeal!!! If you love cookbooks with heartwarming stories and delicious recipes this is the book for you! Sweetness is seriously, so darling, so charming and so yummy! Recipes like, Mama Reed’s Caramel Cake, Buttermilk Cake with Brown Sugar Fudge Icing, Feather-light Biscuits, Mama’s Favorite Strawberry Cobbler, and Wonder Cake. She even has a recipe to cure the grumpies! You can find her Sweetness cookbook here!
Her first cookbook is jam-packed with down-home, old-fashioned goodness! It’s called Southern Plate just like her website and scrumptious recipes such as Chicken and Dumplings, Homemade Banana Pudding, Aunt Looney’s Macaroni Salad, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Daddy’s Rise-and-Shine Biscuits. And of course lots of cozy stories of her home-folks and life in the South. You can find Southern Plate cookbook here! Take a look at her great-grandmother’s fried peach pies below!! Ummm…Yummm!
“These are my great-grandmother’s pies. I remember Lela standing in the kitchen humming as she fried these, placing the crispy treats on a paper towel-lined plate next to the stove as she dipped more into the hot oil in her cast-iron skillet. The entire house smelled of peaches because that was her favorite kind of fruit pie.” Christy Jordan-Excerpt from Southern Plate Cookbook
Her cookbook Come Home To Supper is just as wonderful! I mean just the title alone makes me feel all warm and cozy inside! Once again, this cookbook is filled with tons of easy, homemade recipes to “feed your family with love”.Crispy Breaded Pork Chops with Milk Gravy, Beef and Broccoli, Spicy Fried Chicken, Craving Beans, Summer Corn Salad, Slow Cooker Baked Apples, Ice Cream Rolls, and Cinnamon Pudding Cobbler. You can find Come Home To Supper cookbook here.

I remember my mother making these when I was a sm child and I think about all the baking she did for the nine of us kids. She was super and by the way I really like this website it reminds me of the good times we had a kids
Loved the tray idea for holding all your ingredients for cooking or baking.
The Farmhouse Chicks book looks wonderful. You were talking about a free subscription to Country Living with this purchase. I use to love that Magazine. It’s nothing compared to what it use to be. Just breaks my heart. I wish it would get back to where it was. Just wondered what you thought and everyone else. Be interesting to hear other’s opinion. Thank you for your insp
iration. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
