Here’s a peek at my little O’ booth at Spring Creek Antique Mall and Tea Room! Lot’s of yummy fall candles, and farmhouse goodies! Yes, that is a cow head in the left hand corner! I think it’s one of those things that you love it or not-so-much!! Hee hee! He actually looks very handsome hanging on the wall with a boxwood wreath around his neck. But I love all things farmy so I love ’em!
Here’s a closer look at Mr. Cow head…nestled in some hay (in case he gets hungry…hee hee!) in an old dresser drawer with new milk bottles and a vintage mini muffin pan.
I love me some Gooseberry Patch cookbooks! The mason jar lamp adds a nice glow in the corner…flickering candles…little tart pan chalkboards and pumpkins…lots of goodies!
Here are some mini chalkboard signs I painted. These little unfinished sign ornaments come with the rope hangers and can be found at Michaels Craft store. I used black chalkboard paint and a white paint marker for the designs. You can finde my most favorite 1803 candles here! And how warm and cozy are those Silicone dipped mini lights on the tree? You can find them here! To add even more sweetness I added these vintage photos. Pictures of your family in black and white would be darling too!
I love these new “old style” glass butter dishes, retro glass juicers and white pie birds! Talk about back-in-the-day cuteness!
Here’s a little peek of the Tea Room just beyond my booth. If you EV-AH come to Branson, Missouri you must go to Spring Creek Tea Room in Ozark for lunch! Homemade yumminess! Have your cake and eat it too! Heaven on a fork I tell ya!! Just keep in mind that the tea room is closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s.
Ummmm….I kinda wanna marry that Dinner Bell Farm sign! Someday when I build my little white farmhouse I’m gonna name it Dinner Bell Farm! LOVE IT!!! (It’s new…and girl, you know I got one for myself since I love it so much I wanna marry it!
One last peek…my corn cob flicker candles nestled in some burlap and straw tucked in a rusty old bed spring! I’ve had several of you darlin’s ask if I sell online and my answer sadly is not right now. This mama has too many pots on the fire as it is. But I did link to some of the items that can be found on Amazon. (Affiliate links)
In case you’re a new-be “Sugar Pie”…and in case you love FALL…and in case you love decorating ideas, recipes, all things pumpkin, and fun things to do with your family then you just might want to check out my Fall E-book Pumpkin Pickin’ & Hayrides in the General Store.
Pumpkin Pickin’ & Hayrides is a celebration of God’s blessings and goodness to us! It’s jam-packed with 96 pages of dear and sweet blessings from the Lord that are meant to warm your heart…to make it swell with thankfulness & joy and put a twinkle in your eyes. My hope is that this e-book of fall wonderfulness would make you feel delightfully and joyfully domestic as you cozy-up your home so you and your family would wholeheartedly enjoy this delicious fall season!
Here are a couple photos that I took that are in the ebook PUMPKIN PICKIN’ & HAYRIDES….
“During these golden day’s, we want nothing more than to be home again.”
~Celebrating Home
Darlin,’ as we enter this glorious golden season and as we begin busying ourselves in preparation for the holiday’s around the corner, let us be mindful of our blessings! Let’s be intentional about giving thanks to the Lord for providing all that we need. Let’s take time to say prayers with our family especially around the supper table and bedtime. Let’s give thanks for the things that we sometimes take for granted…a roof over our head, warm bed to sleep in, food on the table, our loved ones, good health. God is good and greatly to be praised!
Come ye thankful people come,
Raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in,
Ere the winter storms begin;
God our Maker, doth provide
For our wants to be supplied:
Come to God’s own temple, come,
Raise the song of harvest home.
Let’s put the “sweet” back in Home Sweet Home and make coming home a happy thing for our family. When we make the effort to cozy up our home and fill it with an atmosphere that glows with the celebration of the season, it is a gift to our family and those who come to visit. It’s those extra little things we do, to create a feeling of warmth and whimsy, joy and goodness, that communicates a message to our family that says: you are loved and it is my pleasure to make you feel nurtured and cared for. It’s a message that hugs the hearts of those we love and it gives them a delicious affection for home. We must never underestimate the importance of providing a loving environment for our family, it sets the stage for happy memories that will last a lifetime. We can do this and have fun doing it!! Blessings will abound!
Well Sugar, it won’t be too long before you hear back from me! I hope all is well with you! I pray for you by name when you leave a comment and I pray for you even though you don’t leave a comment (‘cuz God knows your sweet name!). The Lord knows your needs and heartbreaks and He loves you more than you can imagine…so do I!
I’m sending you lots of Sugar and hugs!!
Your Aunt Ruthie
C.Moor Moo!
Love your new post, Aunt Ruthie! :) Autumn is my very favorite time of the year, too.
I’m looking forward to your new videos!
As for Mr. Cow… Hmmm…
Beauregard Butterworth?
Gomer Guernsey?
Homer Holstein?
although…if he were mine, I think I’d just call him George. :o)
PS I absolutely LOVE you and your blog!!!!
Well, a tradtional vintage name, would of course, be Bessie. But for some reason, Cedric just pops into my head when I look at Mr. Cow. :)
Love your blog/posts! So excited to dress up my home for Fall this weekend and I downloaded the Little Women soundtrack a few years ago on your recommendation. I play it every fall now. (Love the book/movie as well).
How about Sugarpie for your cow name? I don’t remember their names but would your oldest son or oldest grandson’s name be good? But I really think Sugarpie would be perfect for you!
I love love the Tea Room. My Mom lives in Republic and when I come to visit (from GA) we always go there for lunch and make sure to go early so we get a pick of ALL the desserts. OMGoodness the desserts there are to die for. Great post~ Cow name- “Molly Moo” :)
I like the name Sidney for the cow. :)
I bought your e-book a month or so ago and I love it. I keep looking back at it as I get ready for fall!
Your little store looks great.. and I’m looking forward to your new video. :)
Beautiful post-as always.
((Hugs))
Laura
I think it looks like a heifer, so my vote is Annabelle. The face is just too pretty for a bull or steer :)
I think it looks like a heifer and have always wanted a cow named Elsie!
I agree with Pam. I like the name, “Elsie” !!!!
I’m going with Louie, for Mr. Cow. Thank you so much for your sweet post, brings a smile to my face to read your words.
how about a good old-fashioned name: “Mr. Alfie Moo”
Your posts are always inspiring and encouraging! Today’s post is getting me excited for Autumn decorating in my home, and to get up when I’m done here to make a yummy, sweet dessert for my family! Even though we had a bit of a glitch happen this afternoon, it doesn’t have to affect my ability to just keep moving forward and doing something that fills our home with a delicious aroma, cozy comfort and love! I think a good name for your cow is CHARLIE. :)
Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in the works!
“Honey Pie” would be nice-yes, it definitely looks like a heifer.
I’ve been waiting for FALL now for 11 months, heehee. It’s just always been my Favorite Season of them all! My home is ” Harvest Decorated” both inside & out, & I wander thru it smiling ear to ear. This seems to be the Season that just feels the most “Homey”… Thank you for the sweet words you share with us in your blog- I always look forward to them. As for your cow, he looks like a “JEDIDIAH” to me, :-)). ( can’t you just hear the kids telling Mama, “Ma- Jedidiah got into the vegetable patch, again!”….
I think Buttercup would be a sweet name! Maybe a little too girly for a Mr. though? I like it anyway! :) I always love seeing your fall decorating! So inspiring. Love the tree with the signs and old photos! Love all your fun chalkboards, too!
Michelle xoxo
I love fall and you always inspire me not only with decorating but spiritually as well. I always appreciate the scriptures you share and feel blessed to have come to know you even though you have never met me. I also appreciate the encouragement and happy attitude you have and strive to be more like you as I can be quite a pessimist at times. LOL! But God is good and he has an amazing way of bringing people in our lives that bless us encourage us and help us on our journey. I try to do the same but have neglected my blog for some time. I share on Facebook that works for me for now. Thank you again and my name for Mr. Cow head I Sir Ferdinand or Cowie LOL!
Oh Ruthie I just love your booth! I have that cow and at our house her name is Bessie. I’m going to have to see about finding some of those awesome corn on the cob lights! Love your pumpkin harvest. My youngest would love to walk your garden! He’s all about planting things.
Ferdinand; like the children’s story.
Lately, I’ve been checking your blog several times a day in anticipation of another autumn howdy! Can’t wait to see all your lovely fall decor–everything is always so homey and welcoming.
If you decide the cow is a heifer…I like Flaxie Bell or Flossie.
If you decide to keep a male name…I like Clarence. :)
Have a delightful weekend!
Blessings,
Amy
Or Mr. Moo Didley! ;)
Thank you for sharing and inspiring. Anna bell for the cow’s name
Ruthie, I am new to your blog and website. After just spending a few min reading I must say that you are a gift from God. What a inspiration to others and your family! Keep up the great work and encouragement to others! We need more folks like you in the world! You remind me so much of my grandmother Victoria in her younger years. Her only goal in life was to make her family feel special when they were home and to make sure no one, family, friend or stranger went with out a bite to eat at her home! May God bless you! I think your cow looks like Daisy Mae!
Lisa Cameron
I enjoyed this post very much! I offer the suggestion “Beau the Bovine ” ;) Looking forward to future posts.
Have enjoyed your blog for years… Names for girl cow: Olive or Samantha.
Name for a boy cow: Sir Henry or Shakespeare
Ruthie,I like the name Buttercup!
Also, Can you pray for my baby daughter, Erin (she’s 32 but still my baby.) She is due to have twin baby girls Oct,14. They will be identical. Their names are Violet and Cora. These babies are her first and we have prayed for them for a long time. It took her awhile to conceive but God answers prayers in his timing.I thank you for your prayers and if any of you sweet ladies would like to pray we would appreciate it more than you will ever know. I love your blog and follow you on IG. God Bless You as you encourage others everyday.
My Daddy was a Borden milkman….Elsie’s the name!
My Daddy was a Borden milkman….Elsie’s the name!
Love, Love, Love your site. I submit the name of “Bully” for Mr. Cow.
Auntie Ruthie I just love the inspiration! Oh my, the ideas running through my head! I thought the cow “bust” looked a little “girlish” but if you think it’s a male bust then for me his name is “Burt” (giggle, giggle)!
Blessings to you and your family!
I always enjoy reading your blog and your warm , tender words to us.
I also like your decorative style very much and I’m always looking forward to your next Home Tour post .
I think the name for Mr Cow should be ICARUS after the Greek mythological character , a young and restless guy you wanted to fly but alas, he failed because he was careless (he he he ).
Greetings from Greece.
Tina
You have such an uplifting blog and I look forwards to reading your new posts. Blessings, Robin
I like the name Honey Moo Moo. I have a rabbit named Bunny Boo Boo. I also like Elmer for a cows name.
Hi! I look forward to your fall posts every year just like I look forward to my first my pumpkin spice latte from starbucks. The season doesn’t officially begin until I do both. Thank you! Actually I love all your posts but I really love how you welcome in each of the seasons.
I have that cow’s head in my kitchen (we built our house 22 years in a field that was part of an old dairy farm). You inspire me with all your creativity. And thanks too for giving Gooseberry Patch so much love. Would love to meet you sometime!
Why that sweet cow’s name should be “Sugarpie” of course :D Thank you for so much inspiration and all the trips down memory lane, I always hate to walk back home:)
Cowvin. :)
Growing up on a little farm in KS, we usually always had a cow named Bossy!
I love reading your blog posts! I too want to create a Home SWEET Home although I am missing one little detail…. A hubby. Please pray for me that God brings me my best friend and life partner. Thanks! bless you for all that you do!
Bullregard for cow
love You !! Your a Godsend to many !!
I love love love the cow head. For some reason he looked like a she to me and I love Rosie for her name. Don’t know why but that is what popped into my head right away.
I really like Mr. Cow head too!! Think he/she would look great in the kitchen with apron’s hanging from him/her. I think Lil’ Darlin or Maizey or Cream Puff would be great names for your cow!
I suggest that Mr. Cow should be Mrs. Cow with the name Io (intonation in o)! Io is one of the lovers of Zeus! Zeus transformed her to a cow to save her from his wife Hera!
Kisses from Greece!
I am so excited for Autumn this year, it’ll be my sons very first! He just turned 8 months and the leaves are starting to turn so we have been going outside for walks and looking up at all the gorgeous colours nature is providing us with!! We don’t have cows on our farm, only chickens, but if we did? I would definitely name them Daisy & Bessie :) those are my suggestions!!
Your booth is ADORABLE!!! I wish you were able to be a vendor at our Temecula Valley High School Golden Bear Bazaar (to show how it’s done!!!! ) :)
I think he looks like a Mr. Ozark! I was so happy to get your post in my email! I am decorating my house for fall today and this got me even more excited! Autumn Blessings to you and your family, Sweet Lady! :)
Thank you Dear for happy post. You always manage to make me smile and to appreciate the small things…. I bless you for that… have a wonderful afternoon.
I love the fall blog and the Little Women music!! I am such a huge fan of Louise May Alcott! I read all her novels when I was younger. I even found an old Little Women Book dated back to 1940 in an antique store in Savannah Georgia and I just had to have it!! It lays on my old antique dresser in my bedroom! Thank you for sharing this lovely music!!
I would love to introduce your gorgeous head of Mr. Cow to the name of “Moovin” like Marvin, but with a Moo just so he can be heard as he addresses the room!! Have a Happy Harvest on September 23rd!!! I think we should have it declared as Harvest Day instead of the first day of Fall. Just my opinion!
I love your blog. I too love Fall, I was born in Nov.maybe that’s why. I think your wonderful cow should have the name Sweet Pea or Hilda also thank you for all the beautiful pictures you post they inspire me as I too decorate for the seasons. Have a blessed day.
I always walk away from your blog with a smile on my face and ready to start the next season!!!Your decorating makes me get motivated!!!Thanks Aunt Ruthie!!! The cows name!!!Cinnamon!!!
Love your inspiring blog! BTW – if you love the Little Women soundtrack, you will ABSOLUTELY love the soundtrack from “The Cider House Rules”. Even the name invokes visions of autumn. My all-time favorite soundtrack.
Because you said “him,” then Miss Molly is out. That’s a name we had for one our cows. We’ve also had Hershey for one our little bulls. We have a small herd of White-faced Hereford’s. Your little mister looks like a red-faced Hereford. I think, in staying with the Southern farm, you should go with Beau. Very masculine and Southern.
I love your blog today, thanks for brightening up my day!
Always look forward to your post! That picture of the man with an armload of wood just reminds me of my own Dad years ago bringing in an armload of wood for our big old potbelly stove in the kitchen. I still remember what a nice cozy heat that old stove would put out! How about A nice simple Daisy for your cow, or if it’s a male, we always called our “bulls” Harvey. Hahaha….
Matilda if it’s a girl. Ferdinand or Wilbur for a boy. Cutest cow head Evah!
Love your fall post. I find myself smiling a lot as I read it. Can’t wait to view the fall tour of your home. As for the cow’s name, I suggest Daizee Mae or Billy Bob. Ha!
How about Big Beau, Homer or Elmer
You have such a warm way about you. I love nurturing people like you. Kind of the way gooseberry patch cookbooks make me feel.
Happy Fall!!! I always enjoy reading your posts! I absolutely love this time of year….the leaves are changing, there’s a crispness in the air, bonfires, sweatshirts, football. My house is all decorated…the mums are in bloom. Makes me happy! :)
Beau Vine (bovine) ha!
Fall is my favorite season!! I always feel so refreshed and renewed after looking at your pictures and reading such great words of wisdom! Thank you!
Love fall and your blog…the photos are wonderful. As
for the Cow name: Flossy is a good one as it looks like a
female cow to me. Happy Fall to you and yours!!
Linda
I’m new to your site and absolutely love it. I’m pretty much homebound at the moment due to illness and your site is a bright spot in my day for sure.
As for a name for Mr. Cow … how about “Mr. Mischief” .. he looks like he could be a bit ornery ,, lol.
I just love reading your blog Ruthie! Your sweet words, decorating tips, recipes and so much more send encouragement all the way to this Mamma in little ole New Zealand!!! Thank you, thank you and thank you! There has been many times I have read your words with tears in my eyes, and felt the touch of The Lord, encouraging me as a Mamma and a wife and a Daughter of the King of Kings. Bless you sweet Ruthie, you are a dear:)
Blessings, Adele.xxx
Love getting your fun emails. The cow looks like Clarabelle to me!
I look forward to every single one of your new posts ( and love reading through older ones too!) I can’t wait to see your fall decorating! Blessings! Ellie
Love your posts. How about call the cow “Bell” or Miss Bell :-)
I think the cow is Ol’ Bessie!!! :)
Hi Aunt Ruthie! Happy fall and blessings to you! I love your sweet fall booth. How about Otto for a male cow or Anna Belle for a female. :) Hugs!
Happy Fall! I would name your cow Bella Moo.
I love your cow, it’s very sweet. It simply must be a girl in my eyes, so I’m thinking she looks like a Chloe’. xoxo
I have been reading your musings for quite a while! But today the mention of fall was so great on me. We still have warm weather in Southern Illinois but the trees are changing. I really started looking at all your past postings, and they spoke to me so vividly. The importance of having a home for my family ,free from clutter, and cozy.
As much as I love fall, I fear the Winter! But one of your past posting mentioned being prepared in the pantry. Really had me thinking.
Thank you, now I need to get caught up on your past postings and enjoy the season!
Love your blog and always look forward to when it comes out. As far as a name for the cow, how about Sugar-Moo. It combines the best of both. Happy harvest to you and all of your readers.
I say – Marvin Moo-Moo.
Love your blog. Loved your article in the Country Woman magazine. That is how I learned about your blog. I ordered the Little Women soundtrack and I love it. Thank you. I live in Phoenix now but grew up in Indiana. I really miss the fall season but your blog gives me a taste of it. Again, thank you.
Oh SO Charming ~ SO Love Aunt Ruthie and Sugar Pie Farmhouse!
Thanks so kindly for sharing your soul, we surely do have a kindred spirit.
My favorite cow names…
PEARL and yes, honey she needs her own favorite pair of pearls.
or
POPPY (male)
I love fall and I love cows, this one looks female. I’d name her “Petunia”. xoxoxo
Oh you are such a cutie! Your heart is so pure and special! I love to read your posts! I’m going with “Sadie” for the cow! Why? Dunno…..just hit me!
ANDDDDDD ….as much as I loved loved loved this post…..know what I missed?? Your usual “Johnny Appleseed” song and post about him! :0)
I teach 1st grade and we are doing apples this month and Johnny this coming week so I’ve been singing the song and “thinking of you!” I think YOU and that song will forever go together for me! :0)
Can’t wait till the next post! :0)
Jeb comes to mind :) God Bless You!
Sigh… I wish that tea room was here in Californiyay.. :) I love the Fall… So crisp and cool and colorful! Here’s a nice Biblical name for the cow…. Moo-thuselah.
May God bless and keep you and yours!
Hi Aunt Ruthie. Thank you for another inspiring uplifting post. Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I am pulling out the twinkling lights, silk fall leaves, and pumpkins. We kind of have to rely on our imagination in Florida as it is still quite hot here although we yearn for that cooler weather. Your posts can take any ordinary day and make it so much brighter, warmer, and comforting. Violet would be a lovely name for a female cow, but I vote for Donna’s submission of “Cinnamon.” That would be so fitting for either a male or female cow in your kitchen.
Such a lovely, warm and cozy post as always. Thanks so much.
And as for your cow — he looks like a “Mr. Buckaroo” to me. :)
Aunt Ruthie, I have enjoyed your blog for several years now. They are always so uplifting and I love your décor. Your booth always looks great at Spring Creek. I never miss it when I am in the Branson area. For the cow, I am thinking “Mary Jane”.
I do believe he looks like a Buford!! Love your posts …they warm my heart and so do you!
Dear Aunt Ruthie,
I do believe your previous cow’s name is Mildred.
Long time reader, first time comment! Headed into the Fall spirit! When I saw your cow, the name Clover immediately came to mind! Have a great day!
I just recently discovered and love your website! Thank you for sharing your wonderful and creative ideas. I have to say Mr. Cow doesn’t look to much like a Mr. but how about a Lula Bell or Daisy May? Thanks again and God Bless.
I loved every.single.thing about this post! I am not creative enough to come up w a name for Mr Cow Head, however I wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for linking to the Little Women soundtrack-that is one of my favorite movies and I had no idea I could listen to the soundtrack online! I’m so excited! :)
I just love your site ,I read every line .How about Annabelle That seems to fit. Love Ya All Ann
As always, blessed by your post- encouraged to do more for my home. At times I feel discouraged- why is it so hard for me to keep on top of things? Meals, cleaning, organizing, decorating, etc… Please pray for me in this area.
As for the cow- I read through all the comments and have to say Annabelle is the winner in my book… it carries a softness that makes me think of a momma cow looking after her young as well as providing milk for the family that cares for her… that’s the kind of cow I’d want :-)
Loved this post!… As usual :0) I look forward to every one! Love looking at all the new things you’ve created, and how cheerful your posts are! And…. I like Clarabelle for cow name! Have a blessed day! :0D
Looks like a Leonard to me…Leonard THE Cow…..Leonard T. for short. And I’m meaning “lynn erd” here, not “leo nard.”
Love the aprons and the burlap! Two hot items this season! We are a small town of 600 here in Hopkinton, Iowa. We have a mighty mission store here. We are having a charity luncheon Saturday. I have been saving vintage aprons to decorate with. In the last 3 mo. I have washed, ironed and pressed 15 of them. Some with vintage brooches. Vintage china will be on my adopted table. We will have a style show with all clothes coming from the mission store. All 20 tables will be set with dishes, linens, and decorations from the store. Tickets were 9.00. We sold out a long time ago. People are on a waiting list. We prepare food for 165. Profits go to the needy children in our area for Christmas. It is the 3rd year for it and a big success! You inspire me with your decorating!
I love that you call him “Mr. Cow head”. My son (5) and I love to add Mr. or Mrs. in front of things that we don’t have a name for. For example: His teddy bear is called Mr. Bear his We are from the Georgia so it’s said with the sweetest Georgia accent you can possibly imagine. Good luck with picking a name! I’m sure some one will come up with something you will like. I’m still a fan of Mr. Cow head! LOL! I love your blog so much! God bless you!
That’s awesome Aunt Ruthie you grew your very own little pumpkins this year! Your home must be chalk full of fall splendor. Can’t wait for your fall home tour, because it always inspires me to enjoy the season that much more. I think a good name for Mr. Cow just might be “Sarge”! What do you think? Have a great upcoming week! Thank you for all the effort, time, and love you put into your blog to encourage other women.
Love from Texas!
I SO love naming farm animals ~ adding a few more…
Bubba, Bubbie, Moonpie, Freckles, Fancy Face, Mr T Bone, Bossy, Apple Dumpling, Buttercup, Darla
I think Mr. Cow head should be called “Moo”-dy. You are a hoot & a holler , but most especially a blessing to me.
Your website is refreshing and inspiring. I try so hard to make a loving and seasonal home for my three children…sometimes feeling as though I’m falling short. But I know God knows our heart and he shows grace where ever I do fall short. God bless you and your home!!!!
My suggestion for your cow’s name: Belle (get it? Cow Belle)
Just discovered your site, and enjoying it very much!
Elsie!
I just have to say thanks for encouraging me to go ahead and decorate for fall. With my two girls in college and my son in high school I just haven’t felt the urge to drag all the decorations out…even though fall is my very favorite. I needed the boost, THANKS :-)
I really enjoy your blog, your such a darlin! Also wanted to let you know that I’m absolutely…In love…with your pantry, it’s so unique! How about Beulah Bovine for Mr/Ms Cow?
i recently found your blog by reading Country Woman magazine. What an awesome place to visit!! I love making our house a home and you are so inspiring when I’m tired and wonder if what I’m doing matters.
Blessings to you!!!
Hopefully, when I am up there during “War Eagle weekend” I can get up to Ozark and check out your nice display of neat stuff. Staying at a condo at Fall Creek. As for the cow’s name, I thought of Dewdrop.
How about Mr. Moo! I love the Fall and enjoy all your decorating ideas!
Hi Aunt Ruthie – Thanks for the beautiful blog you provide. I follow a lot of them but your is my favorite! That cow’s name is Jethro!
I wish you a fantastic fall and blessings to you and your family.
I like Cozee Cow. I can’t wait for the Christmas tour.
Barbara
Thank you for such an uplifting page. I just want to go through my house and see what I can add to my fall decorations. I just love this! I was reading my magazine, “Country Woman” last night and came up on your article. What can I say but, “AWESOME”!!!!! You sound like someone I would love to be friends with. Can’t wait to see all you have in store for us.:) You have a wonderful fall season. God bless.
Mortimer Moo :)
I forgot to throw a name out there for your cow head.:) I’ve always loved cows has a decorative item and have always loved the name, “Clara Belle”.:)
I love everything about your website, just down right country to me!! You know what I mean.
Also I would name your cow head Brown Sugar Baby, he just looks that way to me when I first seen Him.
Anyway keep up the good work, You do a fine job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoy your posts so much not only for the encouragement but also for the love you show for family and home. As for that sweet cow (I want it so bad!) – I think a cute name for her would be Abigail Begonia! I’d probably put a small wreath of flowers around her neck with a cow bell! Ha! Can hardly wait for your fall video. I’ve almost got all my fall decor up now. It makes me want to keep it all very clean. Just waiting on the season to cool down before I purchase some real pumpkins for our front porch. It’s so hot in Texas, they’d probably cook out there! It was 96 here yesterday. Hurry up, Fall temps!
I suggest “Pumpkin” for the cow.
I love all the names everyone has chosen. You’ll have a hard time deciding. A big thank you for all you do for your family, friends and all of us. And thanks for your prayers!!!!
how about cinnamon or pumpkin pie for mr cow head or ginger
Just love receiving your blog and if your farm is going to be “Dinner Bell Farm” and it is a “Mr Cow Head”, then my suggestion would be “Mr Emmett” or your favorite Christian singer or group. God is so good and we are all so blessed, thank you for having such a warm, sharing personality. With blessings and smiles, Emilou :-)
As always I Love your blog post . Especially during the holidays! You are just FABULOUS!!! I thought of Bessie at first for the cow but then realized its a Mr. So maybe he could be Farmer Brown cow. Lol ! I think he’s very cute! Happy Fall :)
I have no explanation other than it is the first day of autumn, but, Ralph popped in to my head. Yes, Ralph. Maybe because that sweet pic of you holding the pitch fork made me think of Green Acres and then the brother/sister Ralphs, the inept builders. popped in….yes, it must be seasonal change brain. Ralph, I call him Ralph the Cow…lol…loved every beautiful pic and word! I was blessed to visit your booth at Spring Creek during Christmas time a couple of years ago. You were the reason I went. What a joyful trip to Ozark it was for our family! Hoping to go back to Branson for Christmas this year.
Every first day of autumn I sit down with your ebook and pumpkin spice iced coffee or pumpkin tea, turn on Little Women soundtrack, and relax. Thank you so much for providing us homemakers with your joy for homemaking and tips.
howdy; i truly enjoy this site I’m a country anyway,
you’re just wonderful. happy fall to ya all
Love all your adorable fall-ness! Both of my grandmothers were named Elsie, so I agree with the person above who suggested that name (I think your cow looks like a sweet young gal rather than a fella), but I also thought of Myrtle Bell (Myrtle was my great-grandma’s name, lol). Take care and blessings to you and your family.
You are precious and I’m going to share you with everyone I know! I bought your Fall eBook but I’m waiting for the perfect dreamy day with a dramatic Fall sky to enjoy it under. I know it’ll be great. How about Daisy for a name?
OOhhh I love it all Miss Routhie Lou!! I can just smell the spicey aroma of fall in your cozy home. Let’s open up a little farmhouse gift shop up there in the Ozarks…we’ll just ride around in our candy apple red pickup truck, searching for farmy antiques to sell. We will just spend the days doin’ up the shop with country eye candy, listening to pretty bluegrass, making it smell homey with cinnamon candles, and hosting classes in canning and pie making in an old time-y kitchen. If I win the lottery we just might be able to do it…Haha
Hugs & Sugar!♥

As usual I LOVE your blog posts. I like the name Daisy or Punkin for your cow’s head.
I just loooove seeing photos of your booth! It is so cute and I get great ideas of how to gussy up my home! It is so funny that you posted the pics of those old butter dishes. I was “picking” with some girlfriends at an old junk shop this weekend and saw just the lid to a butter dish very similar to yours. I thought…I sure would like to have one of these…but I couldn’t find its other half! So, now I know where to find one thanks to your link. :)
Hope your fall season is blessed! I know I am always blessed when I read one of your posts. Thank you for that!
I have a recommendation for a name for your cow head. (I wasn’t able to read through all of the previous posts so I apologize if this is a repeat)….I love the name Maybelle :) I love listening to the old songs of The Carter Family and I just love to hear Maybelle Carter singing. I think that would be perfect for your sweet ‘lil ‘ol cow head :)
Hi Ruthie, Loved your post as usual! God bless you as you encourage others in the Lord and home making. I agree with Donna for the name Cinnamon for Mr. or Mrs. Cow. Too cute!
Smiles, Deborah :o)
Love your booth pics, I was wondering where you got the oak leaf punch that you feature on some of your items in your booth.?
Your blog is BEYOND inspiring, delightful, creative, inspiring, refreshing, homey….did I say inspiring?!?! :) I just found it last week but look back on it daily to read your past entries and get a healthy dose of ‘farmhouse’ ! Thank you so much for doing what you do! I, like you, am a San Diego girl, but needed MORE than sunshine; seasons, weather,…so I am now in Seattle and couldn’t be happier making my nest here. Although I am not married {yet}, I love making/keeping a loving, nurturing, beautiful home for my boyfriend and me- and our dog! I have already written down so many of your quotes/scriptures and am looking forward to learning more from you. Cheers to YOU and the hard work you put into your beautiful blog. I hope you realize how much we all appreciate it! :) Happy Fall to youuuuuuuu!!! YEE-HAW!!
Milk dud for Mr cow
Happy Autumn aunt Ruthie! I was thinking that maybe you should rename “Mr. Cow Head” after Mickey Moo from Big Thunder Ranch at Disneyland because Disneyland is my favorite place and if I remember correctly it’s your too! Besides, Mickey Moo is such a cute name! <3
*Or Minnie Moo! Yeah, I like Mickey Moo or Minnie Moo. lol
Love this site. Thanks for all your great tips and info. Fall is my Favorite season, I live in California now(originally from Indiana), so I miss a lot of the color changes and crisp, cool weather. I think Mr cow head should be called Mr. BO Vine.
What about the name Mr. Mooregard? Have a fabulous fall!
Dear Aunt Ruthie,
Blessings from Perth, Western Australia! It’s Spring here but as I love everything Fall and Harvest time, I’m sooo…totally in love with your blog, decor and sweet sassy sayings that makes us all feel so good.
I purchased your Pumpkin Ebook but am having difficulties downloading it, which is devastating!!! Seeing your updates just makes me want to read it all the more. Please help with a link or something that I can do to enjoy it. I’m recovering from surgery so am needing a fix of something that warms my heart… Thank you and blessings to you and all the dear like minded ladies.
PS, I’d name your cow – Jersey Boy. ;0)
What a beautiful website! I found you via Country Woman’s article about your gorgeous kitchen. I love your style, and I’m having lots of fun reading your posts!
Mr. Cow Head looks like he might be a Norman :)
God bless!
How about Bessie? or Elsie like others have said!
How about Cow Bob?
I sure do enjoy your blog, you do great work! Wish your store was closer but probably best it isn’t if you know what I mean
Giddy Up …Happy Trails!
Looks like a Elmer to me!!! :)
Thank you for all you’re doing to inspire us to go back to the good old days just a little bit. Love your website and the pics of your kitchen in country woman magazine– they’re going in my idea file for a future kitchen redo!!
Love your website and all you do!
Cow – Miss Moo of course!
Hi, i love your website, it makes me feel good just to look at the things on it. It looks like you have a wonderful life. Thanks for making this website.
Hi, i love your website, it is wonderful, it makes me feel so wonderful every time i look at it. Thanks for making it.
Laughing even as I type this comment. My 6 year old was looking at this post over my shoulder while I read and when I mentioned Mr. Cow Head, being the ever literal little cattle rancher that he is, my 6 year old son informed me that if it was “Mr. Cow Head” it must be a “Mr. Bull Head” because cows are not misters; they are Mrs. or Miss. Bulls are the misters. After his dry yet emphatic declaration I could no more think of a name for Mr. Cow Head than a man in the moon. Decided to share his 6 year old literalness instead. Maybe it will provide a chuckle for you as well. Perhaps some things, such as how a cow head could be a mister, are only understood by a farmhouse loving mama and homemaker. My son’s look of complete confusion at my explanation would certainly indicate this to be the case. How I wish I had a video of him patiently explaining the facts of Mr. and Mrs. in regards to cows and bulls. Priceless. I’m laughing still.
Hi Ruthann! A yeeehaw from our Idaho farm! Our pumpkin patch went crazy! My first! Loads of big and minis too! Had our new friends grand kids and kids over pickin the patch! Great fun on the farm! Three baby Nubian goats added to the farm! Oliver, Popye and Rueben! Had a beautiful kitty who adopted us and lives in the goat pen and garden! We named him Gypsy! Getting the fall wheat harvest crop off and planting alfalfa for spring! Fall haybales, scarecrows ,mums and pumpkins abound! Loving my sugarpie inspired kitchen! Thanks again! Our antique screen door to my pantry really squeaks! Ahhh the sound of farmhouse! Love love! As for your cow! I liked Clarabelle! Since your farm will be dinner bell farm! We named our farm ” FLEW The COOP ” Our chicken house and babies will come in the spring! Well Take care! GOD BLESS !
Oh, my gosh! I WANT THAT DINNER BELL SIGN! You don’t ship to Colorado???? PLEASE???
Love this post. So many great ideas.
I would call Mr. Cow, Chester.
I just love your page and your home. What neat ideas some I would never have thought of. I will be coming to Branson on Sunday the 12 of October and I do hope the fall colors will be there !! Keep showing us ideas and will always love your page !!
What about Hay Henry! You live in 1 of my favorite spots in the world! You can’t beat the Ozarks!
Hello,
First time at your blog and I have to say you look too young to be a grandma!
I think the cow’s name should be “Molly Moo Cow”. What do you think?
Ruthie – you cheer us with your Autumn post this day — “everything and more lovely” ~~ yes, totally lovely for certain!!! Of course I wouldn’t miss being prayed over by name – perhaps a titch selfish, but, goodness, how I just loved reading your petitioning over we followers of your blog…it humbled me Ruthie; thank you as I too attach my own prayers over you and your dear family this night also.\\God Bless, Barbara.
Wow…there are so many comments….do you really have time to read them all?? Or do you have an assistant now??
My comment is really a question…where did you get the dress that you are wearing in the photo of you holding the pitch fork? I would really like to wear the long dresses during the cooler months but cannot find any “ready-made” and “off the rack” in any department stores. Would you be willing to share the information? Really am looking forward to hearing your answer.
And about naming the cow head that you call “Mr. Cow”….I’ve looked at the photo over and over and I think the reason I couldn’t come up with any suggestions is that “he” looks more like a “she” to me…I mean look at “her” eyes, nose, hair (bangs)…definitely seems to have a more feminine look….but maybe it’s just me. Does anyone else see what I see?
I really love your blog and words of encouragement for us to glow with God’s love within our homes…you really do what Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions about making our home more welcoming for family and friends.
Blessing to you, Vicki
I’m a little attached to Mr. Cow myself.
Thanks for suggesting we go to Ozark. My husband and I had the best time, we ate at the tea room and spent an hour looking around at all the booths. Who knew Ozark was filled with so many interesting shops, so if you are going to Ozark go early so you can
see everything.
I think you should name your bull, Gasconade. The Gasconade river rises in the Ozark mountains and flows to the Missouri river.
It’s a good strong name for your bull.
Thanks again for suggesting if we were in Branson to go to Ozark
we had alot of fun there.
Hi… we are in process of building our house and have struggled so much on how i want my kitchen. Back and forth for so long. Then. ..I find your pantry and I hear music! My pantry will be in another room but would love to do my cabs and decorations like you did. What cabs did you use? Paint color? Anything else I need to know? Thank you so much for all your inspiration!
Hi Melinda! I designed my cabinets and then they were built by a local company. I think the key to making them stand out is a large crown moulding around the top. The paint color is Swiss Coffee from Home Depot. Have fun designing your kitchen!!
I just went to Spring Creek Tea room with my little 5 year old (it was mommy daughter date day) for the first time today. Seeing your booth inspired me to check it out. We had the best time! I bought one of the juicers. I was bummed the butter dishes were all gone. Will you be getting more? Would LOVE to get one. I have been switching all my plastic to glass and I was having a heard time finding the RIGHT butter dish until I saw your booth post. Thanks!!!!
Love your place here, feel right at home. The cow’s name should be Bessie. Ain’t all cows named Bessie? LOL, leastwise in these hear parts…..My Grandpa Godwin was a one mule farmer. That’s right, I remember him plowing with his mule (named Queenie). I was the youngest of 7, and we lived right next door. I remember each room of the old farmhouse (which was torn down in the 70’s)and everything in it. There was an outhouse, no indoor toilet. I miss the old days. Although, I don’t miss that outhouse : )
Hi Adriane! How wonderful that you had a fun day with your daughter at Spring Creek! I’m not sure if and when I’ll be reordering those butter dishes but you can find the same one here on this link: http://www.amazon.com/Park-Hill-Glass-Vintage-Butter/dp/B009AYKWHI/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1415032758&sr=8-13&keywords=clear+glass+butter+dish
Thank you for your Godly inspiration and encouragement. You have inspired me in many ways just reading here. I will work on making more traditions for our family, and making our home a haven.
Mr. Bobble for the cow! Blessings!

I love, love your booth at the flea market! I’m going to be sure and visit it the next time we are in Branson–it’s been a while since we were up there. I live down in the Ouachita Mountains south of Fort Smith, so we love to get up to Branson when we can. And I was so happy to see your pie birds. I love to use them in my pies! Thanks for sharing all your goodies and for all your encouragement!
I always love taking time to look at your relaxing blog, comfort to my heart and soul. My husband I go to Branson often, I will have to look for this little tea room and your booth. :) God Bless!
