Howdy-do Sugar Pies and Happy New Year! My, oh my! I sure do love the start of a sparkling, brand new year! I love it because we get a clean slate and new hope to accomplish our goals and dreams! To me it’s like a breath of fresh air…invigorating even! You know darlin’, the chaos, challenges and disappointments of last year are behind us (Yay!!). If you fell off the horse (so to speak) last year it’s time to pull yourself up by your cute cowgirl bootstraps, get on up on that saddle and ride again! NOW is the perfect time to get back to good Old Fashioned basics. Back to what really matters. Back to living a simpler and sweeter life. Back to creating a home that glows with cheerfulness and down-home goodness.
Right after Christmas I always take some time to ponder and pray about the upcoming year and often the Lord puts a word in my heart as a theme to wrap my thoughts around. Wanna know what the word that popped into my heart is? LOVE! That’s right, Love! You know Sugar, the main ingredient to creating a sweet, cheerful, happy home for you and your family is love. Love needs to be our motivating force in all that we do.
Tending to hearth and home is a gift of love!
When we tidy up the kitchen, put fresh sheets on the bed, sweep and mop the floor, wash and fold laundry, get things organized, put fresh flowers on the table and cook a meal with a cheerful countenance we are showing love to our family. We need to remember on those days when we feel so weary of doing the same things over and over that we are doing them because we love our family. We must not become bitter or resentful for doing those very things that will make our dear ones feel loved and cared for. Yes, there are days when we don’t feel like putting forth the effort to make our homes sparkle, or even to put a smile on our face, but sitting around feeling lazy or grumpy in a house full of clutter and dirty dishes in the sink surely won’t make us feel any better either.
Darlin’ there are some important things I’ve learned about our “feelings”. Sometimes they can be good and other times they can get in the way of what we really want in life. We want a clean home but we don’t “feel” like cleaning it. We want to lose some weight but we don’t “feel” like starting our diet today. We want to start exercising but we don’t “feel” like it because we’re tired or it’s too cold outside. We want to finish a project we started a long time ago but we don’t “feel” like it because we want to do something new. We want our closets organized but we don’t “feel” like going through the hassle. We want to be a cheerful, perky, wife and mama but sometimes we don’t “feel” like it, instead grumpiness shows up on our face and comes out of our mouth. Sometimes we get too comfortable with our “feelings” to make a change for the better, but then we miss out on our best life. Dr. Phil says “behave your way to success”.
Let’s not let our unproductive “feelings” get in the way of taking care of our home, family and ourselves. Let’s not let our I-don’t-feel-like-it feelings dictate our life! Do you remember when you were a kid and some other kid, perhaps a brother or sister tried to boss you around? We’d respond by saying “you’re not the boss of me!” Well, that’s what we need to say to our feelings when they stop us from accomplishing what we want in life! Don’t let your feelings be “the boss of you”! We have one life! This is it darlin! Decide what you want for your life, for your home and relationships then do what you need to do. Let Love be your motivating force. You can do this! It takes some gumption, grit and grace but you have it in you! Tell yourself “I’m gonna do it, that’s all there is to it!” Say “no” to your “I don’t feel like it” feelings and yes to a more productive, delightful life! The hard part is starting, but then it gets easier and even exciting once you start seeing results! Just start! Take a deep breath and Git-R-Done!
Be the loving mama and wife you want to be.
Speak with encouraging words. Give lots of hugs. Say “Good Night” prayers over your dear ones. Make time for fun and laughter. Be a good listener. Pray for your family. Forgive. Say you’re sorry when you’ve wronged someone. Treasure your relationships. Look for ways to be a blessing. Tell your hubby how much you admire and appreciate him. When you make a decision to commit your time to something, ask yourself if it will benefit or be a detriment to the well being of your home and family. Always choose what’s best for your family. Smile! Sing! Hum! Enjoy your home…enjoy your family…enjoy your role as mama hen! A happy mama brings sunshine into the home. Practice being the mama you want to be (even if you don’t “feel” like it!) and you will be! (Remember…”Behave your way to success.” ~Dr. Phil)
“To know that you are adored by your mom is a treasure that gives you strength for a lifetime.” Angela Thomas
A Cozy Home = LOVE
Creating a cozy home sends a message of love to your family and friends. Make good smells come from the kitchen. Let fresh sheets on the beds give your little darlin’s sweet sleep. Stock your cupboards and pantry with food to nourish your family. Prepare for things in advance to relieve last minute stress. Hold hands while you say grace before a meal at the dinner table. Clear the clutter and make your house sparkle! Make tending your home fun! I’m all for changing the atmosphere to brighten the mood and lift your spirit! Put on a cute apron, some 1940’s music and light that yummy smelling candle, you’ll feel like a perky vintage housewife! That’s a good thing!
Gals, it’s up to us to set the thermostat in our home:
The setting on “Cold” = indifferent, emotionally unavailable
The setting on “Hot”= angry, critical
The setting on “Just Right”= cozy, cheerful, loving…a place your family wants to come home to!
“But housekeeping is fun. It is one job where you enjoy the results right along as you work. You may work all day washing and ironing, but at night you have the delicious feeling of sunny clean sheets and airy pillows to lie on. If you clean, you sit down at nightfall with the house shining and faintly smelling of wax, all yours to enjoy right then and there. And if you cook—that creation you lift from the oven goes right to the table.”~Gladys Taber
“Love is the thing that enables a woman to sing while she mops up the floor after her husband has walked across it in his barn boots.” Hoosier Farmer
The real things haven’t changed…It is still best to be honest and truthful: to make the most of what we have: to be happy with simple pleasures: and have courage when things go wrong.” ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
Make sure to take care of YOU darlin’!
James 2:8 says “You do well when you complete the Royal Rule of the Scriptures “Love others as you love yourself.” So as we love our family by taking good care of them we must also take good care of ourselves. Taking care of our bodies by eating healthy, drinking lots of water, exercising, and getting enough rest will give us the energy to do all the loving things we want to do for our family. We also need to take care of our emotional and mental health. Planning a little outing once a week will give you something fun to look forward to. Maybe it’s just to have some hot chocolate with a friend, or go antiquing just to browse. Or maybe it makes your heart leap like mine to visit a book or craft store. Sometimes just going for a walk to get fresh air enjoying the beauty of the outdoors will refresh us. Whatever it is that make joy-bells ring in your heart, plan for it! It’s good for you!
Most importantly spend time with God who is Love. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added to you” Matthew 6:33 The more we fill our hearts up with God’s love the more it will spill over on those around us. The more we spend time with the Lord and read His Word we become more aware of His presence and that He is our strength to do all things. We are not alone in this!

When the message popped up that your blog had posted I was giddy. I made myself of a cup of tea and read till my heart was content A fresh new year awaits us all. My favorite product, however, not so new is…….I don’t like to clean my microwave with any chemical products. I slice a lemon in half, put it in a microwave safe bowl. Fill the bowl with water and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Don’t open the microwave for 10 minutes. The steam from the lemon and water will dissolve any of the mess. Remove the bowl and wipe it clean. You will have sparkley, lemon smelly microwave in minutes. Thank you for your encouraging words.
Hi there, we speak the same language I think! I couldn’t agree with you more on everything. When I get that lazy feeling, I just turn on and turn up the music and “go to town” on the projects I need to get done and the feeling of accomplishment is so wonderful. As your music started here, my little dog was sitting on my lap, when he heard the horse whinny, he jumped down and ran to the window and barked! He thought he had heard our horses! Happy New Year to you sweet lady! :D
What makes my heart sing is my dslr Canon camera and my two sweet dogs. Thanks for the giveaway!
Yay! Hey there Aunt Ruthie! How exciting to see a new post. I’ve been a-waiting! I wish you and yours nothing but joy, peace, and health in 2012. You deserve it as you are a homemaking angel to us.
My favorite product is Dr. Bronner’s peppermint castille liquid soap. I use it as a body wash as well as for cleaning. I’ve even brushed my teeth with it and it is completely safe. My 13 year old is going through hormone issues and has oily hair and he uses it for his shampoo. For the kitchen I don’t think I could make it without my Paula Deen wooden spoons and cast iron pans.
Thank you for the giveaway! Blessings!
I was tickled pink when I saw there was a new post up so I headed right on over with a great big grin ready to read and get some wonderful wisdom from you dear sweet aunt Ruthie. I would have to say one of my favorite products so far this new year would have to be the most wonderful smelling candles I have ever smelled burning in the home. Right after Christmas I went out just window shopping and looking at all of the sales I found these candles in our local Family Dollar store. They are Betty Crocker scented candles and oh what wonderful delelious smell they give off. They make your home smell just wonderful as if you had been baking all day. The candles come in apple pie, cinnamon bun and chocolate brownie which is my favorite thus far. Plus they are only one dollar yep you heard right one dollar. So I brought one that day and after my husband come home from work he said honey what ever you have been baking today it sure smells good. So the next day I went out and picked up two more lol. But any way I love them so much I too could marry them lol. Thank you for your wonderful post today which is so true we as mothers and wives set the atmosphere and temperuare for our homes. Again as always thank you for the encouraging words.
Hi! Happy New Year! I am sitting here taking a short break from taking down all the Christmas decor. Feels SO good to get the house back in order with a fresh new start, just as you said. I too love to crank up the music, throw up my hair and dig into organizing and cleaning. Well…maybe not LOVE the work part….but I look forward to the end result. Feels so good for one’s spirit.
What makes my heart sing? My Love’s Baby Soft Perfume. I wore it all through High School and everyone called it my signature. My boyfriend loved it when I wore his jacket, because the light and airy scent still remained. I am SO happy I found some still on-line for sale. I’ve been wearing it again everyday since then. My husband of 23 years now loves it too. ; )
Hello Aunt Ruthie! Thanks for spurring us on to make it a great new year with dreams, hope, and lots of love! You have such a wonderful way of always encouraging me. One of my favorite products is a Zig Calligraphy Pen. Why, you can make anything a little bit fancier with a stoke of one of these chisel point markers. I hope you will give them a try and see what I mean. Have a great new year. I know I will after reading your new post.
Love from Texas~Donna
Oh I sure needed to read this post today. Thank you so much. Love your blog. My favorite product is my Quick Shine sweeper. It’s battery operated and it’s so easy to use. I love to keep tidy floors and this makes sweeping and picking up dirt and kiddo crumbs a cinch. I use it once and some days twice a day.
Happy New Year – Many blessings!
Marie
Thanks for the encouraging words and great reminders!

My three favorite things that make my life easier are: SKYPE! Couldn’t survive being on opposite coasts from my son and Grandaughter without it. MY IPHONE: just entered the smart phone realm with this awesome gift from my hubby. It can do so much to help keep me organized! And lastly, PINTEREST! What a great tool to organize your ideas, directions and recipes that you find on the web. This week I have been using some recipes for homemade cleaners (vinegar is a great disinfectant….who knew) and homemade laundry soap. Thanks RuthAnn. You are always so encouraging. I am blessed with every post!
That was a blog post I sure needed to read:) Thank you so much-it was so inspiring that I may have to go back and reread it! My favorite product is plain ol’ bleach….it can make my sik and counters white again as well as clothes and it reminds me of my grandma:) Blessings to you, Tress
Oh, I was just as thrilled as everyone else when you popped up in my reader! Happy New Year, Ruthann! You are SO encouraging! Angela Thomas is one of my FAVORITE authors. To keep our finances healthy, I have sworn off Amazon for a year (GAH!), so it would be pretty sweet to win this book…and the other treats…
Anyway, recommendations:
1. Makeup: Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Gloss. (I have a beauty review site linked on my blog, and I review this there. A great inexpensive pick-me-up treat.)
2. Christian Nonfiction: The Power of a Praying Mother by Stormie Omartian. Brilliant prayers; she’s got it all covered.
3. Fiction: Angelina’s Bachelors by Brian O’Reilly. Yummy, cozy book.

Much love and thanks to you, Ruthann! I often read some of your most inspiring archived posts in the morning or when my spirits need a lift…it never fails because you always lead by example and point to HIM! This one is going to the top of my “morning inspiration” list!
What a great reminder for the new year! I think some of my favorite household things: 1. The slow-cooker. Especially this time of year! 2. Baking soda – miraculous for cleaning everything from counters to toilets to shampooing hair. 3. Hot tea! I love all the Christmas and Pumpkiny flavors. I even throw some steamed milk in and make a nice little tea latte to warm up the day.

When I saw your facebook page saying you posted a new blog post, I said “Well bless her heart!” I needed this today, thanks for the timely post. As for favorite products, I can only think od 2. !: Revolon nail polish..to keep me looking and feeling happy all the time. And 2: Vinegar plain old vinegar. It claens everything and leaves no chemicals.
Hope you and yours have a wonderful year, full of everything you dream of.
You’ve got me all motivated to go clean my nest! My new favorite product is the Vidalia Chop Wizard. That thing works great!!! Not all those As Seen On TV gadgets are good, but this one IS! Gotta go feather my nest and make my guys feel all loved! We can’t trust our feelings because as Jeremiah says, “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”
I love me some Pinterest! What a wealth of great ideas!!
And since I’m a sweet tea lover, I can’t get enough of my Tea Maker! It’s by Oster and has a glass pitcher to make it feel a little more fancy. SO quick and easy!
And I love Vinegar and Olive Oil. I use those two regular household items in several different ways! Disinfecting, polishing furniture, facial masks and moisturizers…the list could go on!
AWESOME giveaway! =)
Loved this post!! (I always enjoy each of your posts! You have a beautiful home and such beautiful words to share!) This may sound rather silly, but my favorite thing right now is my dish scrubber! I usually enjoy washing dirty dishes… it’s putting the clean ones away that I don’t enjoy. Funny me! :)
Favorite things :
1. Beauty – Rockaholic dry shampoo, freshens up yesterday’s blow out and gets rid of oily areas. Just spray and style. Big time saver!
2. Home: Downy Simple Pleasures dryer sheets, Better Homes and Gardens voted this their best new product, makes your clothes and sheets oh so fresh and sweet!

Ha I enjoy candles but have really enjoyed this cause there is no fire involved. I love my crock pot and could not survive the winter months without it. I am pretty “crazy” about the new Pinterest web site too………..Ha These are my favorite things………..
Loved your new post … so encouraging! :)
I LOVE Philosophy Products too and I want the Sugar Sprinkles Funnel Cake Body Wash to become my new favorite. I think I will HAVE to buy me some even if I don’t win.
Thanks for your encouraging words and for the fun give-away.
As always, I love your posts. Happy New Year!
Thank you for your timely post! I am so glad that I found you this past year. What an encouragement you have been. My goal this year is to turn our little home, in the middle of a great big city, into a farm for our family. I will be planting seeds for veggies and making/canning our harvest for the coming year. To support me in this, my DH gave me a huge industrial canner for my birthday a couple of days ago. I plan on trying it out this weekend. I am anticipating this being my favorite tool, right along side my Kitchen Aid mixer and Cuisinart. Thank you for your encouraging words as we start into a new year!
Lovely read… I always look forward to reading your posts… very inspirational! What a fantastic giveaway… as for my favorite product (I have many!) but, I’d have to say that I love my Martha Stewart Dutch Oven.
Just like the other sweet ladies have said, “thank you!” Your posts are always super encouraging, and they always are posted exactly when I need them! As a new mom and sorta new wife (we’ve been married a little over a year), I get tired and weary, but my mama and your lovely words (and the good Lord, of course) keep me going! My favorite products are the lavendar smelling bath wash and powder for my little baby (it makes him smell so sweet and cuddly!), my crockpots, and any kind of new makeup (it is such a treat even just to buy a little thing of cheap fingernail polish, a great pick me up! plus it makes me pretty for my man!).
Happy 2012!
You always seem to write up a post that speaks to me when I need to read it the most Ruth Ann. :)
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
The past few days I had convinced myself that staying home to raise my children had been a mistake. I’m now in my early 40’s and have 4 kids aged 6 to 18.
Our financial situation could be changing somewhat and I may be forced back into the work place, something I haven’t done since I was 23 years old. To say that I’m scared of this change is an understatement. Self-doubt, self-pity, all of it are right at the forefront of my mind.
All I could think was that I’d made a horrible mistake in taking myself out of the “working world”.
Reading this post today has reminded me that even if I do have to go out to work, I’ve created some good memories for my children. Routines ARE in place and we will survive. I hope that things don’t change because I do LOVE being home.
But anyhow, thank you for your words… they came at a good time for me-as your encouragment always does. :)
My favourite thing is something that you probably already have-a Kitchenaid mixer. I only got mine about a year ago and I use it almost everyday. Totally worth every cent.
((Hugs))
Laura
Fabulous Sweet Post! :) A couple of my favorite products…Vanilla Birthday Cake Candle by Yankee, truly makes your home smell like you’re baking something yummy in the kitchen!! :) Second ~ just love Vanilla Birthday Cake Shower Gel, so yummy in the shower 2!! :) Thanks for sharing…loved your words of wisdom!! <3
My dear Aunt Ruthie, I am always HAPPY when you put up a new post. You are optimistic and encouraging. Thank you. This is a very generous give- away. Thanks for a chance to win!
My cleaning tip is for cleaning windows. A homemade cleaner. I a spray bottle add 1/3 cup alcohol ( I like the scented kind.) and 2/3 cup vinegar. Fill bottle the rest of the way with water. I find this does a much better job than store bought clean and cost just pennies.
I have two things that make this girl happy. The first is anything from Mrs. Myers. The scents are heavenly and I love that there aren’t any of those harsh and nasty chemicals in her products. Yankee Candles are also a good thing. I enjoy the Apple Cider scent best of all. It leaves a wonderful cinnamon scent that makes my home smell like I have spent the day baking. Yum!
As always an encouraging post. It makes me want to jump off of the computer and say “Oh yes, I can whip that craft closet into shape!”
Enjoy your day! :)
Lemons Lemons Lemons! You can eat them. You can Clean with them. You can Decorate with them. A bowl of Lemons just brightens my day no matter what season it is.
Thanks for the new post. I have been cleaning, scrubbing, and organizing our log cabin the past couple of weeks. Feels so good.
Cleaning logs is an adventure:)
My mom gave me some Williams Sonoma Dish soap (grapefruit) scent. and it is divine.! I feel so pampered when i wash dishes.
Love, Becky
My favorite cleaning product is called Bar Keeper’s Friend. If you have food that has cooked over on the stove, or yucky food stains on the bottom of your pots/pans this is the BEST product to get it off!!!
My favorite thing in my kitchen ~ my cast iron pans handed down to me all the way from my great-grandma! Oh, how I wish those pans could talk. They’ve cooked endless meals from before the depression-era and they’re still at it! I love Scentsy products, also…:o)
My favorite product is lemon scented Clorox wipes…they clean everything and smell great!
What a treat today to find you in my blog roll! I always love reading your posts and savor every word you have to say ;-) One of my favorite products is the Mrs. Meyers kitchen spray in lavender. It always makes our home smell so fresh. Thank you for your encouragement on being the best we can be.
Hugs!

Again “Thank You” for the wonderful post. Hope to see you again before Valentines Day. I am already decorating for it.
I have so many favorite products that I use. I’ve learned that some of the older products are the best. I love good ol’ Comet to clean my tubs and sinks. Nothing else like it. I also swear by Ponds Cold Cream for a facial cleanser.
I love my crock pot…couldn’t survive the holidays without it!
My Dear Aunt Ruthie, I have been watching for a new post for several days now, and checking sometimes as often as twice a day. I was so pleased when I got online today and saw your new post. I made me a glass of ice tea and sat down to read and enjoy. As usual I found your words uplifting and motivational. I am trying to lose weight, start a walkin program and get my finances in order and need all the encouragement I can get. =,) I loved hearing the horse sounds in the beginning. Very good idea. I also enjoy the older music you play on your site and even plan to buy some 1940s CDs. I have already bought some gospel Blue Grass CDs. I love having older music playing in my vintage kitchen. My favorite products at present are Better Homes and Gardens scented wax cubes for my tart burner. My fav scents are Line Dried Linen and Green Apple. Also, I really like Japanese Cherry Blossum lotion and body spray by Bath and Body. Thanks for the wonderful posts you write that inspire, encourage and motivate!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your post. I agree with you about tending to hearth and home being a gift of love. My favourite thing would be my slow cooker. It’s great to come home and a meal is cooked!
What a beautiful New Year’s blog~~~Thank you!!! I changed my e-mail address but I am the one that met you at The Urban Barn a year ago~~So love getting and looking forward to your sweet words! Aunt Ruthie, you always know what to write, this one was for me. What a blessing, thank you. I love philosophy products, just about anything. I have promised myself this year to simplify .
I love the hope and promise of a fresh new year and your post was just what I needed to read today! Well, this may sound silly but my husband was deployed to Afghanistan for almost the entire year of 2011 and he sent me a Keurig machine from Amazon for my birthday and it was the best gift ever! Homeschooling with 6 children is exhausting on the best day so those quick yummy coffees really helped me out and perked me up. I also love Burts Bees baby shampoo and WOW worship cds.
You should check out the items on this website (http://www.thepaisleyunderground.com/). I love all the items, they are so cute. They all have a cross between classic and urban charm. My very favorite item is the head bands, (http://www.thepaisleyunderground.com/funky-button-crochet-bands.html). They are perfect for anytime of year. The other cool part is that the girl that makes the items is a stay at home mom. So, it is a great way to support her. Happy Shopping!!! ;)
Well I was so excited to see that you have a new post up. I have to say your so right, when I am feeling like I dont want to do anything I just turn up my Ipod and go town. I work through it because I know that when the kids come home from school and when my hubby comes home it our family time and I just dont want to have a messy house that I am trying to clean. I want to sit and talk to them about there day and have our dinner together. Well my favorited product had to be my Yankee Candles I love the Home Sweet Home. My hubby is military and we have moved alot and I always make sure I have a candle with me to light in our new home even before we get our furniture. We all know that the scent of that candle means we are home. Thanks so much for your wonderful blog and I am excited about your giveaway.
Joy
Thank you for your giveaway. The Lord puts a word in my heart each year to center my thoughts on too. This is my fifth year of focusing on a word instead of resolutions, and I have accomplished more each year than I did in a lifetime of resolutions. This year my word is Sanctuary. It’s going to be a great year! My favorite product is my Silhouette machine.
Thank you for another encouraging post! Each one brings such joy! I am loving my new boots and scarfs right now! As far as for the home, I love essential oils that I use along with vinegar, alcohol, etc. to make homemade cleaners. These scents really make cleaning feel like a treat!
You are so inspiring in your posts, and what a wonderful give-away! I have several favorites, but probably the one I’ve used the longest would be Pond’s cold cream. It’s very affordable and non-irritating to my skin.
Happy New Year, Aunt Ruthie!
I’m excited about the new year and all the exciting challenges that will arise. I love books! I love to read and always carry a book with me everywhere I go just in case I find a few spare moments to read. Last year, my husband gave me a Kindle so I can read books on that now.
Thanks for your lovely New Year Blog! I love my log home all decorated for Christmas abounding in festive decor, but I love the wide open spaces I have from cleaning and organizing after the holidays….still working on that;) I am in love with Lavendar Essential Oil, Bon Ami Cleaner and my King Arthur Sourdough starter in my cute King Arthur Flour Crock…..all three help keep my home clean and smelling good…cinnamon rolls made from my starter smell devine ya know?
Thanks forsuch a lovely “New Years” post and reminder. Your posts are always so encouraging. I’m going to share this with my girlfriends on FB….I hope they are as encouraged as I am!! THANK YOU!!!
I wear the cutest dish gloves while cleaning. They are latex gloves with a cute green and white polka dot ruffle at the top! You can’t help but love to clean to wear these!
Thank you for this sweet post! You are always so encouraging! I have a rice cooker that I love! Also, I use one of those herbal heat spa wraps…sooo relaxing!
Ooooh, how I have been longing for a cozy sugar pie post!
I have been keeping busy reviewing older ones though – now that I am going to be grandma “Mimi” for the first time, I had to go back and read your grandma ones! Such fun!
One of my fun things is fun decorative file folders for my desk. I have them in
Many patterns and it makes all my paperwork neat and a bit more cheery paying the bills. You can even find packages of them in the dollar section at Target.
With warmth and joy,
Lori
OOPS!!! I forgot to mention one of my favorites when I posted a little bit ago….my favorite thing to make my house cozy is my Yankee Candle in the scent “Apple Cider”. It is perfect all year (not just fall) and it makes my kitchen smell yummy!!
You make me smile! Thanks for the wake up call and encouragement. Some of my favorite products are Origin’s Skin Care products. I have fair skin and especially love a Perfect world cream with SPF25!
Happy to see your post this evening. Love is the word that sums up what we all need for sure and to give. Thank you for your words of encouragement . I think my favorite item in my kitchen is my mother’s cast iron pan. Everytime I use it I think of all the wonderful dishes she made in it. She taught me everything I needed to know to be a wife and mother.
One of my favorite products is Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon counter cleaners. I love the smell of my kitchen after I use it to clean up! I also love Bath and Body Work candles. I like the Fresh Linen for a nice clean scent year round, and naturally Fresh Balsam during the Holidays. This is a wonderful give away.
I enjoyed your post, so uplifting! I’d love to see your clean uncluttered fresh look in your home too. I look forward to how you change your home for the seasons since I do too.
Carey
I really needed to read this today. With a four month old, four hear old, and a ten year old I have been running low in the energy department for a while now. Most of all I have been lacking in the motivation department and you gave me just that, so thank you!
Three things I have to have:
1. Zep spot carpet clesner. I have found it at Home Depot and it is amazing. It will take out any stains and that is important with three kids.
2. Mary Kay mineral powder foundation. Makes my skin look smoother and I can’t go a day without it.
3. My scentsy warmer. I love all my different scents and the fact that people comment on his good my home smells when I have it on.
I was so excited to see a new post. I’m such a fan :).
My favorite product today is the french nail kit from Kiss. I don’t really have the money for salon nails and these are a great pick-me-up on the cheap. They look pretty and last about 10 days.
Thank you for hosting a giveaway !
i love this post! very encouraging and just what i needed. my word for this year is “positivity” i want this year to be filled with positive thinking and optimism.
as far as fav products go….i love my shark steam mop. i have stained concrete floors and i love how easy the shark is to use and how “natural” it is..just water no chemicals..
thanks for hosting a wonderful giveaway!
Hi Ruthie,
My favorite item would have to be those scissors! Thank you kindly for the generous giveaway!
Love & blessings,
Debbie
God bless you-Aunt Ruthie-for your wonderful words of encouragement! I believe that mothers have the most important “career” of all and your posts make me think you do too. As grandmothers we should encourage young mothers to feel honored to be able to be home and do all those “unthankful chores” that they do. You are a true blessing. My favorite things:’ -my orthoheel slippers for my poor fallen arches —my “dustbuster” so I can say “no problem, kiddo, we’ll just clean up the mess with Nonni’s little sweeper” —my new Nook Color I can take to bed after a full day of “unthankful chores” and read my self to sleep :)!
Aunt Ruthie, I so enjoy reading your posts! This one spoke to me so much. I struggle with not “feeling” like doing things. I love the idea of looking forward to an activity. Sounds like Motivation! My favorite things are my Kitchenaid mixer, my husband’s grandmother’s cast iron skillet, and Granny’s Lye Soap at Silver Dollar City. It is the best at taking grease stains out of clothing!
I just want to thank you so much for this last post. Today was alittle difficult and very long. And i have to say it made the rest of my week. So happy and cheerful. Just what the doctor ordered. But i have to say my favorite thing in my home that helps me out the most is my old ringer-washer water fountain. A very special friend of mine made it, and had to move, so he gave it to me. Its a pretty mint-green color and the water spills out from where the clothes would be put threw. Between that and my old rusty metal glider and a good cup of tea, life is pretty good… have a wonderful weekend…
SO glad I found your blog! And I’m in love with this post – everyday I try to make my home a little sweeter in some shape or form :) I think I might just have to bookmark this so I can reread it if I need a reminder or a little boost.
One of my favorite products is Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. My skin can get oily, but also very dry if I don’t use a lotion, and if I DO use a lotion it seems to always break my skin out. This is only lotion I’ve ever found that moisturizes my skin without adding oiliness or breaking it out. It’s perfect! I buy the big bottle for $30 and it lasts for a long time.
Thank you for hosting such a great giveaway!
Happy New Year to you Ruth Ann! I specifically got online today to see if you had a new post…I knew it was about time! ;) SO happy I found this…so much wisdom and coziness and Love, as always!
My favorite product is Mr.Clean Magic Eraser! What did we ever do without this?
Thanks for such a wonderful uplifting post!! It is just what my heart needed today!! Seriously, you have no idea :)
As far as my favorite product…wow, thats a tough one…we are so blessed to have so many great things that make life easier and fun for that matter…well…I have to say I LOVE ceramic bowl, all shapes, sizes, textures, design…it makes bringing food to the table more fun…parties full of color…my husband may say I have to many, but being the sweet man that he is, always manages to surprise me with new ones often :)
I always look forward to your new blog posts – and was happily surprised to find this one today – it was just the “boost” I needed! And what a lovely, generous give-a-way! My absolute favorite kitchen item is my *red* Kitchen Aid mixer – it sure makes my life a whole lot easier since I really love to bake – plus it’s so stinkin’ cute on the countertop!
Beautiful words of wisdom, thank you so much! I stumbled upon your site and what a find! I struggle with that humble attitude and those grumpy feelings daily. Seven kiddos from ages 2 to 17 can wear a Momma out, but I do think your site is just what I need. It’s the perfect motivator and mood booster, the world needs more of you!
As far as my favorite product right now it would have to be Udderly Smooth. All eight of us are new to the midwest (southern transplants, lol) and our skin is just not adjusting to this dry climate! This lotion is a must have in our house!
Oh ! such a wonderful post for the new year !
Have a great great new year aunt Ruthie !!
Love all your give-away ! I wish to be “the winner”…. but God will choose that !
A lot of kisses from France and happy new year from my family to yours !
Flo
I look forward to your January posts – such a wonderful inspiration gathering for the new year! Believe it or not, I never had a real “aunt”, so Aunt Ruthie – you fill the bill! Wisdom filled quotes and posts, tips on cute things, it’s just what a gal needs!
My food processor is quite a “workhorse” in my home- easy to shred a block of cheese or chop broccoli. Giddy up!
What a fantastic post! I would have to say the one thing I couldn’t live with out and I use everyday is my food processor. Love it and it does make life so much easier!
Thank you for that inspiration, Ruthie! I really needed it. Yesterday when i was tempted to get grumpy at the kids and hubby, or gripe about little messes forgotten by the children, I thought of what you said. :)
Can’t do without my cast iron skillet.
Thanks for the inspiring words! My favorite cleaning product is my Monster euroflex! It’s like a handheld vaccum. It plugs in and it has a long attachment that gets in the corners of the floorboards without having to bend over. I use it alot! It’s great for picking up crumbs, etc. and you don’t have to haul out the big vaccum, which doesn’t get in the corners all that good anyhow!
What a fabulous post! You are so right in everything you said and it’s so refreshing to hear there are others who still believe this same way. It’s a wonderful pep talk, reminder and inspiration all at the same time. I always enjoy my visit here. Thank you!
Cathy ♥
I agree with your idea of just turning the music up and getting busy. So, one of my favorite products is my Itunes music library. I made a playlist called “Housework Mix”. It’s all upbeat and cheerful music that makes me feel good. I turn that on when I’m doing the housework and it just makes it more fun and enjoyable. It also makes the time pass faster. :)
Your message came at a crucial time, I had just thanked God for the many blessings in my life and asked that He give me the strength and desire to ‘get er done’. My plans for the day include dusting away the cobwebs (real and imagined) and to set about getting my home in order. I love a clean home, a warm meal, freshly laundered clothes and the satisfaction it gives me to care for my family. Favorite products include Tide and Downy, swiffer dusters, crockpots and my new kindle to read at the end of the day.
Wonderfully written! I absolutely agree that how we feel can get in the way of progress. Thank you for taking the time to minister to our hearts. As the kids have grown older and more independent I sometimes lose track of how important our role is in our children’s lives.
One of my favorite products in my home is my pressure cooker. I love cooking roast and getting that fall apart tender meat that I can use for several different meals.
I just recently tried Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products, and oh my! I am in love. They smell so good that it is a true JOY to clean my house!
WOOHOO! New year, new you I always say. Feels so good to declutter our homes (although I di miss that fresh tree smell for thos first few days my tree is gone).
Hmm – well, I am a TOTAL philosophy girl, I’ve been using their products for YEARS. My all time fav product is Hope in a Jar. Just the name makes you want to try it – we all need hope in our lives. I love this moisturizer so much. It is a bit on the expensive side but my face feels so good when I put it on. I give it away as gifts at the holidays so people I love can try it too.
Much love to you and your sweet family, Aunt Ruthie :):)
hugs – Diane
G’morn & Happy New Year to you! Love your upbeat share for starting the New Year. You are so delightful & know exactly how to inspire &
get a message across so beautifully. Thank you.
Just the words I needed to hear this morning. Thank you for always being uplifting and encouraging. It is not always easy being a good Mama and Wife, but the benefits are well worth the effort. My favorite household item has to be my slow-cooker. It is a lifesaver. But the one thing I don’t like running out of is my Lysol Wipes, so easy to grab one and clean the counter or wherever. Blessing on you in this new year.
Thank you, this post is timely to say the least.
Happy New Year!
Jess
Oh Ruth Ann… how I wish I had the zeal you have for homemaking! :) I agree about the “feelings” thing, though… we have to make a choice that we will push through and do… no matter what/how we feel. Homemaking doesn’t come naturally for me (like it seems to be for others)… I view it as a chore and not a privilege (staying home) and it’s just me here… by myself… I admit… I find it hard to stay motivated… but that’s where YOU come in!! Reading your posts makes me want to get up and do!! Thank you so much… God uses your blog to minister to me (for several years now) and I really appreciate how you share your love for Him in all your posts!!
Ok… fav products for entering the contest: Shark Steam Mop (huge blessing to my back…LOL!!) And then Bath and Body Works candles and room spray… “Winter” scent being my fav right now!! It’s a special treat for both the hubs and I around the Holiday season… Thanks Ruth Ann!! (HUGS)
It made my day to see that you had a new post up! Your words are so encouraging to me!! Thank you for reminding us how important the menial tasks are to our family. :)
One of my favorite products is made by the Tyler Candle Company. I love their candles, but having an open flame often makes me nervous when children are around. I now use the Tyler Mixer Melter. It’s like a small crockpot in which you put scented mixer melts. They melt in the pot and smell divine. I love all the scents, but my favorite is Warm Sugar Cookie, It smells like fresh baked cookies in my kitchen all the time!
Love my Philosophy Hope In A Jar moisturizer….can’t do without it and recently started using Mrs. Meyers hand soap “basil”….love it!
Thank you for the timely words! They were exactly the gentle encouragement I needed to “get back in the saddle” as a woman, a wife, and a mama. Just to show how much I need to get back to the business of living, I couldn’t even think of any favorites to share without reading through the other comments for ideas. Here are my all time favorites: pinecones for decorating, Burt’s Bees lip balm, cast iron skillets for cooking, and french press pot for coffee. That boot bracelet is just about the cutest thing I have seen in ages! My daughters would all love one of those. We’ll have to check those out further. Thank you again!
How delightful to wake up and read that your latest post was ready for all of us to read and share. It inspires me to find such helpful and inspirational tips. It can be a challenge to juggle the full calendar of our lives, and it certainly helps to hear from everyone on your blog about their special tips and thoughts. The new year is exciting, and you have helped to motivate me to make the most of it…thanks Aunt Ruthie:) My favorite products would be our ebelskiver pan (if you haven’t tried one, it is incredible!) It makes breakfast for guests look likeyou spent hours, and you can stuff them with such delicious fillings. I also love the old Betty Crocker cookbook that my mom gave to me years ago, it has some terrific recipes and a fantastic set of photos, very nostalgic, and my new favorite from Christmas, and Hamilton Beach electric kettle. It is so nice to have piping hot water in about 2 minutes for a cup of jasmine tea. Happy new year to all of you and Aunt Ruthie!! Love and blessings, -Kelly
Oh Aunt Ruthie,
I too get giddy when I see your new post in my inbox!! I loved all the encouragement and read all the comments above mine. Great tips and product ideas, girls!!I know when my three kids grow up they will remember certain things I have done and hopefully pass on to their own! Thank you for letting me see that housework IS a labor of love!! My favorite products…I too love Philosophy (currently using Pink Cotton Confection-yum), Aquolina Pink Sugar perfume (Sephora), Moulinette Soeurs Adelie perfume from Anthropologie, Aveda hair products, I’m a kitchen wipes junkie and LOVE lemon scented Clorox, Scentsy wax warmer bars in sugar cookie, cupcake, and pumpkin spice scents, Target brand stack of white washcloths…{the list could go on and on!}
Good morning, Aunt Ruthie! Can I just tell you right here, right now, how much I adore your blog, and so look forward to each and every new post! I am a full-time stay at home wife and mom, and feel so blessed to have that as my “job” title! It’s refreshing to read about someone else with the same set of values…..oh yes, my favorite gadget these days? Why, it’s my KitchenAid ice cream maker attachment! It attaches so easily to my stand mixer, and it could not be easier to make homemade ice creams, frozen yogurts, sorbets or even gelatos! We use it all year long, especially in the summertime when I always seem to have a bounty of peaches and berries to use up. I got mine on sale at Macy’s for about $80, and is worth every single penny, in my book!
thank you for the great product suggestions and your inspiring words GOD BLESS YOU
I am always so excited to read your posts. They inspire me so much. Some of my favorite products are Philosophy’s Inner Grace, Mally Beauty’s mascara and eye shadow stick, a good cup of coffee from Tim Horton’s, Southern Living magazine, Yankee candles, and Bath and Body Works Wallflowers in Eucalyptus Mint!
Hi,
I loved your words of wisdom. December was a hard month for me and I am having a hard time recovering. My Step Father that I had since I was 2 passed away. I had visited him the day before and he looked fine so it was quite a shock to get a call with the news the next day. I know that you are right and I should get with it but, for some reason I am just going through the motions and not really feeling it. Cobbler in the oven Chicken Spaghetti for lunch, and house is clean. Just feel like sleeping and am really tired. Your words came at a great time and I hope to take them to Heart. I would love to win the give away and get headed in the right direction.
sincerely,
Delicia
It’s always relaxing and yet energizing to see what observations you have to share. Right now I’ve been (trying) to organize my sewing area. Seeing order come about is so helpful in the creative process. I have a LOT of Red, White and Blue fabric. My favorite products, Presencia thread, my new Shark floor steamer, and vinegar for hard water issues.
Can’t wait to get back to quilting and other projects for soldier needs. Thank you for being a bright spot for keeping spirits up!!
oh my goodness, what a difficult question…….I love my bare minerals makeup and burts bees lip balm, and any kind of luxury soaps, my dishwasher, my subaru, gee this is hard to pin down, Icould go on and on and on………thanks for your inspiring blog and fun pictures andlooks at your inspiring home!
So encouraging ~ thank you! My favorite item is still the timeless mason jar. I use them everywhere from the pantry to the sewing room. They make me happy!
I would have to say that right now my favorite things is contact paper! I have been organizing closets and it makes the shelves look so pretty. Makes me want to keep it all clean so I can enjoy the shelves, lol. Happy trails to you :-). What a great giveaway!!
Thank you for your New Year’s thoughts! Just what I needed today!
My favorite product would have to be my NOOK that my dear husband and kids bought for me this year for Christmas. I have our family calendar on it, my bible, and a couple of devotionals, along with some great books to read, and of course, it gives me one more way to connect with my teenagers who are growing up way too quickly! I love your website and feel the same way about New Years. How lucky are we to have New Years start on a Sunday this year, kind of a double whammy!
Happy New Years!
Wow! I love reading your post. Couple of my favorite products are Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day -Lemon Verbena counter spray and Yankee Candles. I love the smell of a clean house.
Dear Aunt Ruthie,
Thank you for this article and your time to write it. Any thing referencing the Lord’s will and old fashioned refreshes my soul.
I like to listen to David Pawson teaching online (he can be found on you tube) and learning as many scriptures as I can every week. Going to put the scriptures on the refrigerator. I can’t wait to make a prayer board and put it up soon. It’s pictures of family and scriptures and prayer reminders on a cork board..when we see their faces, we thank God upon remembering them and pray for them. David Pawson is from England and is a very good bible teacher. I’m going to start putting the same scriptures up in the laundry room and on the bed’s headboard. Hopefully when I remember them, I’ll obey more, which is the important part. (Jesus says, if we hear what he says but don’t do it, Jesus says that’s like building a house on sand: the winds and the rain are going to knock it down. It’s the same in our lives: if we don’t put Jesus’ words into action our lives come crashing down around us. We end up with stress and worry, driven crazy with lust, plagued with anger, broken relationships, a sense that life isn’t about anything other than getting up, going to work, going to bed, and doing it all over and over again. But Jesus says there’s a way out of that trap, and it’s simple: so simple Nike even uses it as their slogan. Just Do It. That’s how Jesus ends his Sermon on the Mount: ?You’ve heard me. Now go do it.? And if we do, Jesus says we’ll be like a house that’s built on a rock. We will be able to withstand anything that life throws at us if we will just do what he says to do. Credit goes to Jesus first then to: Scott Dudley @ jesuscentral.com for repeating Him.) We aren’t breathing for ourselves but created to *glorify God* and help others. Just remember that if you didn’t have those difficult people in your life, how else could you practice any of the nine fruits of the Spirit of God? So do like scripture says and thank God for wherever you are and every thing whether or not you dictate it as good or bad, as God has taken bad and made good from it time by time.
I like the sticky notes the Lord let us find for cheap last year that have His beautiful creation scenes on them and for leading us to that yard sale where the lady gave us a brand new unwanted bread maker. Thank You God (o). We use Dr. Bronner’s brand soaps and soaps like that for everything; crocks and saved glass jars for soaking, sprouting, fermenting and storing. Multiple use, reusing/purposing works well for us. Thank you for asking, we liked sharing today. Congratulations to the winner, God decides to bless! Praise the Lord.
Have a fruitful week Ruthie,
from all here.
Hi there Aunt Ruthie! First of all, thank you so much for all of your inspiration! I have told so many friends and family about you and your blog. My favorite product that makes my life easier is CLOROX WIPES. My favorite product that makes my home feel cozy is SCENTSY. My favorite thing that makes me feel pretty is MY SMILE. I know that’s not a product, but I have so many people tell me how it makes their day to see me smile and be nice to them. I hope you and your family have a super awesome year! Take care!!
hi there – I adore your posts especially when you share your house being all gussied up.
Some of my favorites are the new smashbook by EK success – it’s a fun journal that I use to document happy times with family & just share some of MY own accomplishments. I also love me some fabric & paper flowers – they cost really cheap and help to gussy up my scrapbook pages & even some hair accessories for my girls…Also for a sinful but yummy drink at home I love me some chai & egg nog – nice and warm it makes my insides feel all cozy & toasty.
Thanks for the chance to win in your giveaway…have a great new year.

Thank you for such an inspirational read this morning ~Praise God~ You always bring a smile to my heart <3
My favorite product is good old Clorox! I have a jug in, of course, the laundry room, the bathroom, kitchen, and my husbands’ work room. I have a bottle marked ‘Clorox Water’ which I use to clean counters. I put a little in my dishwater (no dishwasher here), I add a couple drops when I wash and clean thick skinned fruits (oranges, lemons, bananas, etc.), we add just a capful or so when we bathe our dog (it makes her white hair sparkle!). I love the faint scent of Clorox on our sheets, towels, and in the kitchen.
Thanks so much for the chance to win such awesome prizes!
Blessings to you and yours,
Denise
Oh, my goodness! I am in love with this post- and to have a giveaway too:) Awesome! I am 9 months pregnant with my 5th child and was feeling dumpy and grumpy- I am going to choose to be a happy momma again right now :) Especially since they are going to induce me tomorrow to have my baby boy :) (3 girls and 2 boys)
Thank you so much!!

What a day brightener, to see your post in my inbox! Blessings to you for all that you do — I could not agree more wholeheartedly with the ladies above….we appreciate your words and sentiments more than you will ever know! I was blue today, thinking of our son that won’t be part of our family anymore (his choice, or perhaps his bride’s choice) and it helped to read your post. Maybe some day he will remember the laughter and warmth in our household (we homeschooled all three kids) and perhaps he will rejoin us then. That is the prayer my hubby and I are praying.
Products we love to use? The old timey ones….although I have seen in the comments some new ones that I would love to try! We use a pyrex cup with water and a lemon wedge for microwave cleaning, and the countertops just aren’t right until they have been swiped with old fashioned bleach! Love the new ideas for scents — may have to find some of those and try ’em! Happy New Year to you and yours!
shoot- I forgot to add my favorite product- I am a HUGE fan of using plain old fashioned vinegar on my tile floors. It gets rid of any soup scum buildup and it isn’t a strong chemical that would hurt my little ones. You can also add whatever essential oil to it to smell however you would like your floors to smell. Thanks again!

Aunt Ruthie,
Thanks so much for your wonderful post. My favorite thing right now is my iPad that my wonderful husband got mr for Christmas! Plus I am loving our new cast iron skillet and perusing Pinterest.
My hubby places orders for parts that come from England, and he has a kind vendor that buys Lady Jane’s Scouring Pads for us, and ships them along with our order. The Lady Jane’s are the best cleaning product I have ever used…from cleaning dishes to scrubbing bathrooms to cleaning bugs from the front of our cars. Please count me in on the giveaway. I’d love to win! Thank you!!!
I so love your posts but wish they were more often. I know you are
taking care of your hearth and home.
This post made my day because it is so uplifting.
Thank you so much; also for the giveaway!!
Forgot to mention one of my favorite cleaning products are from
Mrs. Meyer’s. The scent makes you want to clean.
This was just the “pull yourself up by your bootstraps and whistle while you work” message I needed to hear this morning. All the Christmas decor was packed away yesterday but I just don’t know what to do with all the empty space in my house now. I was thinking about leaving it until next weekend (overwhelmed AND procrastinating!) but I think I’ll get everything set to rights and start my Valentine’s Day decorating a little early! :)
My favo
I can’t name a favorite because it is all my favorite. God has blessed me so much. Whatever I am using or doing at the moment is my favorite. Practicing being mindful of the moments of my life.
Hello Aunt Ruthie,
Wow, love the words of exhortations and encouragement! You are doing exactly what God’s word says~ Older women are to teach the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home and kind. Keep up the good work! ~ I have a beauty product to share, it’s a bodifying mousse for your hair made by Smooth ‘n Shine. It can be found at target in the hair product aisle for black hair but it works great on any type of hair.
Blessings, Karon Jean
Thanks for the inspirational post. This one really touched me because I am about to become a first-time mom. I am so excited, but I know the rigors of life can make one irritable. This post reminds me never to forget that creating a loving, cozy home is the most important thing. My favorite product is the Skoy Cloth. It’s basically a sponge and paper towel in one, and it replaces both. What’s great is that after you clean, you just throw this cloth in either the dishwasher or washing machine, and it’s like new again, so it won’t harbor bacteria. It’s safe, economical, and keeps a tidy home. I discovered this on a trip to a kitchen store and haven’t looked back!
Good mornin’, Aunt Ruthie~
Your post was simply divine! I read it, then re-read it, then had to read it once more…Thank you so much for blessing me today with your message of LOVE! It is always good to be reminded of how, through our daily work of cooking, cleaning, and laundry we show our family how much we love them and by showing this love, we are honoring our Heavenly Father.
My favorite item I use on a weekly basis is my grandmother’s very large mxing bowl. She baked bread every day for her 11 children and I was blessed to inherit this, and now I use it to make bread for my family…no bread machines for me. My recipe makes 3 loaves of Honey-Wheat bread and it’s gone within a couple of days. Whenever I use it, I think of her and how she was blessing her family by this wonderful, albeit necessary, act of love.
Blessings to you~
Hi Aunt Ruthie,
Loved your post this morning. Housework can get a bit dull, but you made it feel like a delight and a sort of “calling” to make my family happy and comfortable… I like that.
My favorite thing in my kitchen is my grandmother’s old 1954 O’Keefe and Merritt stove, which I was priviledged to inherit at her passing.
I remember her warming the kitchen with it on cold Texas mornings when I was a child…and hanging my little socks from the edge of the oven rack so that they would be warm on my feet. No central heat back then! She would make toast by buttering the bread on one side and putting it in the broiler for a few minutes. It would toast on one side only and it was so good with her homemade preserves spread on it.
Her specialty though, was chicken and dumplings. She would put them on mid day and cook them slowly througout the afternoon. No “crockpots” back then…the mama of the house was the “slow cooker”.
Just looking at that old stove each moring makes me want to be the best I can be for my family. Makes me want to be like my grandmother…who was the the most wonderful homemaker in the world! Blessings to you and yours…Kate~
Echoing many of the ladies here, I love to see a new post email in my inbox! I wait till the house is totally quiet (if not empty!) to sit down and soak up your wisdom! Thanks for your encouraging and uplifting posts. You are truly a blessing!
Now for my latest favorite product: Lysol 4-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner
Normally I like to use natural products to clean my house, namely vinegar and baking soda, but those are no match for the hardwater spots I get on the shower walls. The Lysol 4-in-1 works better for me than anything I’ve ever tried! I spray it on when I start cleaning the bathroom, then leave that job to last. When I get back around to it, I give it another few squirts to wet it again, and then the grime and spots just wipe away–not just glass, but tile, too! LOVE this stuff!!
Thanks again for all of your encouraging words!!
The best compliment I ever received was from my hubby recently. He said, “I was looking around the house today while you were out and I can’t believe how nice you have made it with so little.” The best product EVER is the internet. I never would have met Aunt Ruthie or any of other ladies out there who put their faith, family and home before all the other alluring things the world has to offer.
Fun giveaway! :-)
My fav product? My computer! LOL Keeps me connected to family/friends from faraway – and to get to meet wonderful people like you!
What a wonderful post to kick off the new year! All of your words ring true! I really struggle with the exercise one, but I always feel better when I do it!
It really is hard to come up with just one thing, but I think I’ll go with my camera. I seem to forget so many moments, especially if they happened years ago, and I’m so thankful I can look back at photos and relive that moment over and over again. I could look at my babies forever!!
Have a blessed 2012 Ruthie!
Holly
My new product that I love is my new juicer. We watched the documentary on Netflix Instant call Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead by Joe Cook and wow, it really showed how Americans are not eating enough Fruits and Veggies.
Anyway, a juicer can help with all that and we have been juicing up a storm.
Love your blog, Ruthie and love all of your family reminders. So motivating. thank you for ALL your posts! Keep em coming!
Jennifer
Love your blog and words of wisdom..My favorite things are Ponds Cold Cream..cheap and effective..plus my crock pot..What a time saver and a wonderful way to use inexpensive cuts of meat..
I think my favorite would be the book with all those great tips in it!
Happy and blessed 2012 to you!
Love your new post! As always, full of encouragement and wisdom that I need. I love Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products. I have been using the Iowa Pine scent lately and it is so refreshing and perfect for this time of year in my part of the country, Michigan. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family. They are very lucky to have you! Sincerely, Patti H. Livonia, Michigan
Oh I’ve missed you Aunt Ruthie!! You always inspire me as a Wife and Mama–after reading your blog posts, my heart just seems to grow in love for my home and family! How do you do that? I also love, love the pictures that you use–they make me want to live in a different era, too.
I just started using Mrs. Meyer’s All Purpose Cleaner and I love it! Great smell and it makes everything sparkling clean-just like I know you and Mrs. Meyers would want it!!
If you only knew how desperately I needed this reminder today! As a small-farm wife, mother of 7, one precious child who has a disabling genetic condition, balance is something I struggle with constantly. I once saw a gravestone that read: “Our Mother. She was the Sunshine in our Home.” What a legacy to leave your family!
This years motto: “Do common things uncommonly well.” Adding to that after this post: “With more love than ever before!”
As to products I can’t live without; this is no “product” but I COULD NOT live without my Bible. It truly contains the wisdom needed for successful living.
Thank you for all you do. I am blessed by this ministry. That’s what your blog really is!
This Christmas I discovered what a wonderful blessing my new Wilton mini-muffin tins could be! It may sound downright silly to call muffin tins a blessing…but as a stay at home mom of a very busy little two year old boy, I’m constantly looking for ways to cut out time in the kitchen. But I love to cook, so homemade Christmas goodies are still an absolute must…even while corralling my little bundle of energy. :) I used my Wilton mini muffin tins to make the most adorable and easy cookies. You can either make a dough from scratch, or use a mix. You just line the muffin tins with paper liners (and they make cute ones with Christmas motifs), roll your cookie dough into one inch balls, plop them in the liners, bake, and top with a Hershey’s kiss or mini Reese’s cup while still warm. You can mix and match flavors of dough and candy to taste. When really pressed for time, I was able to make the cookies using Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix with Reese’s cups…all while my son was in the kitchen with me enjoying a morning snack! They were delicious!! Who knew that a muffin tin could make Christmas cookie baking so easy and adorable. Here is the site for the recipe I used…http://www.mommyskitchen.net/2008/11/double-peanut-butter-cookie-cups.html
Love anything from the “Mrs. Meyers” line of cleaning products… They’re a tad more pricy, but the packaging & wonderful scents make me smile! It IS the little things… That’s for sure!
My current favorite product is my new iPad! I’m still learning about all the great features. But I also love anything by Vera Bradley. I received a tote in one of the new colors, mocha rouge, as a Christmas gift. In your words, ” I want to marry it!”
Enjoy your blog. My favorite thing is Amazing Grace fragrance from Philosophy. So heavenly.
I really needed this post, Aunt Ruthie! I don’t have any babies yet, but I work full time and I find myself not having “time” to clean as much, to organize my closet, etc., and I’m getting stressed out with all of the build-up. It’s like I can’t catch up! Your post has encouraged me to make the extra effort so my hubby and I can have a serene place to relax when we get home from a long day at the office.
My favorite product is my Breville blender; I try to make green smoothies every few days and this blender is perfect! It really makes our busy lives easier and delivers the smoothest of smoothies.
Thank you for hosting this giveaway!
Just the post I NEEDED! Thanks a bunch :)
I do Love anything from Philosophy and the book looks like a keeper.
Thanks again!
Kimmie
Happy New Year, aunt Ruthie!!! So, my new must have beauty product is Queen Helene, mint julep masque from Sally’s Beauty Supply Store. It is only a few bucks and it truly does what it says! It is amazing! I have acne prone skin and this masque claims to dry up acne pimples, rinses away blackheads and help shrink pores. I noticed a huge difference the first time I tried it. I use it as a spot treatment over night. Good stuff, but if you’ve got super sensitive skin ya might not want to leave it on too long. Oh and Beyond the Zone Protein Cocktail for my chemically treated hair. I’ve got naturally curly hair and it goes through a lot and well, sometimes it just won’t curl and I’m left with such terrible frizz that I cannot even straighten. Anyhoo, I just spray a little protein in it and I’ve got lovely curls again. Then there is my super fave lotion Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. I’m just crazy about that stuff! :) As always what a great post! I’m loving reading everyones must have products. Your words always motivate, encourage, and make me want to do something wonderful. I cannot tell you enough how much you mean to me. You are a huge rolemodel in my life, thank you. I’m sending lots of love and happy thoughts your way. God bless you and yours. Can’t wait till your next post. :)
Please include me for a chance for your giveaway! Love your blog :)
I cannot clean without using Mrs. Meyers cleaner! The Lemon Verbena fragrance is simply divine! I’ve been known to dirty up some dishes just so I can fill up another sink full of this stuff!! My other favorite thing is Carmex! I’ve always said, If I end up on a stranded island I could handle it so long as I had my Carmex, peanut butter, Dr. Pepper and my family! Thanks for another great post…very inspiring! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I do believe I hear some dirty dishes asking for a bath!
Happy New Year Aunt Ruthie! I just love you and your wonderful words of wisdom. You inspire me to be a better mom and wife. Your love of the Lord is so beautiful…thank you for reminding us that we are not alone in our role as homemakers. It’s tough but sooo rewarding. My favorite cleaning product is Pine-Sol. The house always smells so fresh and clean after I’ve been scrubbing with it. My Great-Grandma used it, too!
Hi Aunt Ruthie,
Your recent blog put me too shame!! I do not like housework but love a clean house. Thanks for the reminder that it should be a joy to make my home organized, squeaky clean and a pleasure to do so.
My favorite thing to do is drink a cup of tea and peruse a new magazine. My favorites are Tea Time, Romantic Country and Victoria. Thanks for your inspiring blog.
Oh my, there are so many things I love. Beauty products wise, I love Moroccan oil for my hair. It leaves my hair so shiny and healthy looking. For the kitchen, I recently got a KitchenAid mixer and I LOVE it! Makes baking easier.
The most helpful thing….starts with your post for today! Not wanting to put away the final reminders of a beautiful Christmas with our first grandson…you truly reminded me of what my role is. I thank you for that! My second thing….a little tiny cuticle “nipper”. It is my magic tool for any and everything. Finally, cleaning products from ” Freds Fine Cleaning Store. His products smell divine, and make cleaning actually soothing.
Thank you for your inspiration today….I really needed it!
Happy New Year Aunt Ruthie! Thanks once again for another uplifting post. What a great way to start the new year off right, by taking a few minutes to remember what is really important in life and to make sure that we remember we have a big part to play in how well, and how happily, our homes are run! I have a few favorite products– Bath and Body Works candles for one. They make a room smell delicious so quickly! Also Myers lemon verbena dish soap. Nothing makes the chore of washing dishes more pleasant than some scented bubbles! And lastly, Philosophy’s Pure Grace body lotion. I too am a Philosophy girl, and I just love the Pure Grace scent. Love all the inspirational messages on the bottles too! I hope you and your family enjoy a happy and healthy 2012. We are especially looking forward to this year ourselves as we are anxiously waiting to travel and adopt two special little ones from Eastern Europe. It will make our year memorable indeed! Thanks again for your posts :)
Thank you Aunt Ruthie,
Wow, how we do need to encourage one another to keep on, keeping on. I too, have been cleaning and organizing! My most favorite “new to me” product is Fels Naptha Laundry Soap. It is a laundry soap that I use primarily for stain removal, along with detergent. Just wet the article and rub the bar across it to remove grease and grime. It’s cheap and lasts a long time. I also like Borax in addition to the Fels Naptha and detergent. Our laundry has never been so fresh!
Remembering to keep a clean heart too!
I just love reading your posts! My favorite cleaning product? Just plain old vinegar. Does a great job! My favorite thing to make the house smell nice (not easy with 3 big dogs!) is Scentsy! I was buying and using and giving away so much of it my friend asked me “why don’t you just sell the stuff???” SO I AM!! pattivz.scentsy.us if you want to join the rest of us with clean smelling homes with no flame and no worries about a fire with little ones or pets knocking over a candle. I loved having the cider scent going and having the house smell yummy over the holidays. I promise you will NOT be disappointed!
Well, my all-time favorite household product is Windex! There are NO substitutes. Not only does it make mirrors, windows and chrome sparkle, but it’s also a fabulous stain remover for carpet stains. My favorite ‘fun’ product, as of late, is the Secret Wonderland body butter from Bath and Body works. It smells super yummy! Thanks for hosting such a fabulous giveaway. Blessings!
Hey Dawn, have you seen “My Big Fat Greek Wedding?”….just wondered since you mentioned Windex. ;)
One thing that helps me sooo much in the morning is my CHI straightener. I have naturally curly hair and gettint it straight can be difficult. Not so with my CHI…and the best part is I got it half price at TJ Maxx AND it’s pink!! :0)
Here’s my top 3:
Well first off, my Bible it indispensible! :)
After that…
I love my VITAMIX! I use it many times every week!
Also love and use my kitchenaid mixer every week as well!
Thanks for the fun giveaway!
What a wonderful blessing into the new year to read your uplifting post! My favorite item to freshen my home has to be candles. I love candles and we use them probably every day. They can set the mood for your home as the fragrance fills your house. Whether you are cooking or cleaning or someone has just come home candles have a way to say “welcome home” everything is going to be alright!
Happy 2012!! Thank you sooo very much for your encouraging words to jump-start this new year! My favorite new product is my Keurig Coffee Maker. I bought the red one and absolutely love it! It is so easy to use and there isn’t any clean up. There are many varieties of coffee and tea and you can even get hot chocolate, apple cider and lemonades!! I love your web-site!!! Blessings to you!!!
I sure love each and every one of your posts! It’ s like gettinng a big warm hug!
I love using Method Lavendar Multipurpose spray. The scent lingers and leaves the house smelling so fresh and clean. It’s also fun to put on my zebra striped latex gloves when using chemicals like bleach or something. No one said we couldn’t look cute and have fun while we clean!
I love the Country Wisdom book and those white kitchen scissors look wonderful. I just love little scissors. I enjoyed so much reading your blog post. Such good advice! It’s a good thing to read and focus on and it’s how I live my life. I like being happy. It’s a far better permanent state of mind. I like being helpful. It’s a far more fulfilling way to live. I like being organized and doing everything as I go. I never have chores that way. It’s funny how I discovered you. I’m always on the lookout for Missouri bloggers and I found you via another blog and came here right after your December post. I kept waiting for another post. I’d check my email, I’d check in here. I thought I didn’t have something set up right. Well, there was your post in today’s email and I was delighted! My favorite product is a beauty line and it’s an inexpensive brand too. I’d discovered Garnier hair products made my hair grow to my waist for the first time in 47 years while becoming so thick and healthy. After many years of un-success with face creams, I tried Garnier Ultra-Lift Pro Gravity Defying Cream and it took 20 years off my age! Then I tried their hair color and it’s the only one I’ve found that is the closest match to my natural hair color. I’m a big fan of the entire line of Garnier beauty products and their affordability and I highly recommend them. I look forward to more posts from you.
Howdy Aunt Ruthie! Like you and so many other women folk out there, I just LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixer! I use it all.the.time! From pizza dough, buttercream frosting, banana bread, and chocolate chip cookies, this darlin’ handles it all with ease and makes my cooking a breeze!
Best part about my mixer? It is a second hand, 30 year old model my sweet mother bought for me off ebay! It works beeaauuuuuutifully! Don’t be afraid to buy used, ladies!
Happy New Year to you all!
Love your posts…so uplifting & such a blessing, as are the comments by your readers!
My favorites:
1) Dobie scrubs – all the elbow grease you need
2) Pampered Chef chopper – saves me from crying as I chop onions
3) Keurig – because I don’t drink coffee & this inspires me to make it for my hubby who does! And, I can have hot apple cider in seconds!
I love your blog, and always look forward to seeing it in my in box.
I have 2 favorite things for today. I love Swiffer dusters. I don’
t know how I managed to dust before these little champs came along. And, at the end of the day when all of my chores are finished I really love my Lily of the Valley foot cream. My feet thank me because not only do they smell delightful, but they are oh so soft.
I just love your blog! I have told so many of my friends and family about it. Today I was feeling a little blue. My daughter went back to school today which is 1100 miles away. I went to your post and was instantly uplifted by your words and the wonderful music you have. I cleaned her room from top to bottom and feel so much better. It will be ready when she comes back in February for a short visit. My favorite cleaning tool would have to be those Mr. Clean white sponges. They clean everything! Thank you for your wonderful blog!
Love the post. Always good to hear your thoughts. Home is where the heart is for sure. Hope this year brings you much joy and happiness and that God covers you with his blanket of love.
Forgot to include my favorite cleaning product. I love Swiffer dusters. Seems to make my life a lot easier. I have many other favorites but this one I use most often.
I’ve been looking for your post, and revisiting the last one, and older ones! You are such an encouragement to everyone, God bless you for giving us such uplifting words of love and inspiration! You are so much fun too!
Some of my favorite products are : Goof Off, for the dried latex paint the Mr. gets on his good clothes, Mineral Powder Foundation because it doesn’t feel like make-up, and white vinegar for cleaning floors and windows. Thank you for your fabulous blog, full of love and wisdom!
I LOVE the scent of Method Grapefruit scented cleaner. Its so fresh and cheerful!
Hi Aunt Ruthie!
Love your posts….they are so encouraging! My fav. products are:
The Bible, Sandi Patty CD Falling Forward, the books: Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George, and The Power of Prayer, by Stormie Omartian. I also love, love, love my cowboy boots (my first recd for my 50th bd last year). I think I want to sleep with them on! Please ladies, don’t neglect your husbands and your homes! :)
Thank yo so much for your blog. It is a joy to read and always puts me in a better mood! I especially liked this latest blog with reminders to complete our tasks with joy and love in our heart. My favorite product right now is my Keurig coffee maker and k cups. I just love having a fresh cup of coffee each time! Plus it smells great!
My favorite things in the kitchen I love to use are my Vitamix so I can make healthy fruit smoothies for the family and myself. YUM! It also does a lot of other things I have yet to try. My next favorite thing is my Bosch mixer which helps me make homemade bread! I can even grind my own flour with a special attachment and then knead it in the Bosch mixing bowl. Amazing results and I wouldn’t trade it, ever! Then to make my kitchen/house smell yummy I take a candle warmer which has the little bowl sitting on it for a tart candle, and instead of a tart, I drop in a few drops of scented oils which permeate the rooms and smells awesome!! Don’t have to worry about an open flame if I am not there! :D Love your blog!!! <3
I love any Mrs. Meyers all natural cleaning supplies especially in the lavendar scent. They smell wonderful and work great!!!
Your blog sure cheers me. Thank you for your kind words. Keep up your good work!
Two products i love are; Skoy reusable towels from http://www.reuseit.com. I have really cut down on my paper towel usage and that makes me happy and saves me money. Plus the Skoy is a cross between a sponge and a towel so it is a very useful tool.
My second favorite tool is the Jar pop, I gave those as Christmas gifts. The jar pop breaks the seals on jars so I do not have to struggle to open a jar. This is an amazing little tool
Hi Aunt Ruthie, I love your blog and I’m forwarding my email to my sister-in-laws, I know they will love it, like I do.
My favorite cleaning tool is Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They work great and all you do is wet them with water. I gave the big 10 count size to all of my friends for Christmas presents. Anyone who has never tried them…..REALLY SHOULD!! They are wonderful…
Happy New Year….
I was so excited to see you had written today. I just got home this evening from church and read your blog. Oh, I think God is talking to me because pastor’s sermon was all about not letting letting your feelings allow Satan to come in and temp you to do things you know is sin. Wow! I so much enjoy your blog and always get excited when it pops up on my email. I recently bought a Bissell floor sweeper. Not electric, but the ones you just push around like they use in restaraunts. Wasn’t sure about it but my fur babies bring in so many dried leaves onto the carpet and hard wood floors that it was driving me crazy! It works wonderfully! I just leave it sitting in my pantry, and when my babies come in the doggy door, I just whip it out and run it through the kithen and den. It really works!! Please enter me in your drawing, and please draw my name, as I never win anything! lol
Aunt Ruthie, thanks so much for your inspiring New Year’s message and for reminding us that what we do in our homes is showing love to our families. Love never fails! My favorite household helps right now are my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer…makes baking bread so easy since it mixes and kneads the dough for you, and my Whisper Mill wheat grinder. There is nothing better than the smell of freshly ground wheat, unless it’s the bread just out of the oven!
I have a special reason for getting my house in order and spotless…our first grandbaby is due this June!
Many blessings to you in 2012!
Love your blog and this post! Just what I needed to hear to help me get going in this new year! One of my favorite things right now is the Beth Moore book “So Long Insecurities.” It is amazing and I’m learning so much through it!
Dear Ruth Ann – so glad to have your newest post in my inbox this afternoon! I really enjoy your encouragement, and believe it or not – some of your thoughts on not being ruled by our feelings line right up with our Pastor’s morning message. Of course he was not quoting Dr. Phil, but taking his message straight the Word of God. Such good encouragement – I needed to be reminded again! It’s easy to forget! As far a favorite product, I don’t get out shopping much at all, so I don’t see the new stuff. My heart was rejoicing over the time honored reliability of good old Bar Keeper’s Friend yesterday as I scrubbed my badly stained white enameled sinks until they looked *almost* like new! It’s no new, but it made my sink shine and brought a smile – I like things that don’t cost much but get the job done!
Happy New Year, to you and your family! I just love your blog! :D This is a wonderful giveaway, to start the new year off! Thank you!
Here are a few of my favorite things! One is our sleep number mattress. It really has made a difference in my sleep, and aches and pain. Second is, Pinterest! I really have gotten so many wonderful recipes, ideas for home, book recomendations, gift ideas, etc. It’s my new “go to”! :D Third is, my Dyson vacuum. With two kids, a dog, and a rabbit… plus, my hubby, :) I vacuum every other day the main areas of our home. It’s amazing, the suction that vacuum has!
Ok, before I make this into a full blown report on my favorite things, I will stop. :)
Thank you again for the giveaway, Aunt Ruthie!! God Bless!!
Packed with a whole lotta wisdom Ruthie ~enough to have us all saddle up our horses and bring home and infusion of joyful, loving habits! Happy New Year to you and your wee Nest Ruthie!
Luv’d every speck of your post tonight–good enough to capture in a bottle for certain Ruthie!
Favourite product — not sure if this comes under the title of product, but my first thought was ‘postage stamps’…….I just love slipping a wee note or card into someone’s day via the postman—- for a distant second choice I’d say Noxema — such an old product, but, ahhh it does tend to the fresh face that’s facing a fresh, new day!!
Blessings Ruthie – It was a total delight to glean from your words tonight….with thanks and more.
Barbra.
Greetings from Georgia. Your blog is so encouraging and you are as sweet as sugar for having this give-away. Here are 5 products that I enjoy:
1) Charlie’s Laundry Soap ( so wonderful,1 tbsp a load,no yucky chemicals, must have for sensitive skin, excema, dermatitis, etc.)
2) Berkey Portable Water Purifier (Use everyday & my kids drink lot’s of water from it too. You can even filter water from lakes & streams. I take it almost everywhere. Love it!!
3) Mrs.Meyers Honeysuckle Hand Soap ( Smells like a sunny spring day…….)
4) Aloe Vera Leaf ( Yeah those BIG weird leaves you see in the produce aisle. They are the BEST for your skin. Cheap and only about $2. The gel inside renews your skin. You can put it all over your face at night, it is clear and will dry within minutes. You will wake up to a soft, smooth, and better complexion. Also great for burns, rashes, etc. I try to always keep a leaf in my fridge. I now wear very little to none powder, foundation, etc.
5 )Waring Commercial Blender ( Make fruit ice cream for the kids and lot’s of healthy green smoothies for us too. A must have to quickly make a healthy drink & my kids “breakfast ice cream” which is frozen bannanas, strawberries, chia seeds, & almond milk, sooooo good & healthy!!
Have a great night & keeping spreading joy….. Mrs.Clark
Lovely post, you are such an inspiration and you remind me so very much of my Mama!
My favorite product is my phone, with just a phone call I can reach my Mama at any time for any homemaking need or advice I may have. She makes my life so much easier and sweeter just hearing her love over the phone. I am a newbie homemaker and just moved away from home in Sept to be with my Fiancee, I moved several states away and haven’t seen my Mama since then.
She is my rock and hero, and one of the greatest tips she ever gave me was to check out Sugar Pie Farmhouse for inspiration.
Thank you for doing what you do! Hugs!
CowChick (Loagan)
Thank you, again, Aunt Ruthie, for your post. I’m sure you know by now what an encouragement you are to so many, but I cannot help my self – I have to say it, too. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into the posts so as to help all the rest of us.
Favorite products: VitaMix blender. Love it! It is especially helpful with our newly adopted healthy lifestyle.
Other favorite thing – my house! After having a fire in it last week, I have told the Lord MANY times how thank I am that it didn’t burn down. Trying times like that make you really stop and think of what is important and what isn’t.
Thanks again, and thanks for the chance to win goodies! Blessings to you and yours!
Thanks so much for your encouraging and uplifting posts – I’m so glad when they show up in my email! And thank you for your focus on the Lord and good old-fashioned values!
Regarding products:
I love simple and inexpensive multipurpose cleaners like baking soda and vinegar.
I love accuradio.com for music in my kitchen.
And I love Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
( I had to look up the name since I just think of it as my de-puffer). It feels great at the start of a day when you didn’t get enough sleep, at the end of a long day, or in the middle of a hot day!
Loved your post! So encouraging :) My favorite products are…
1) My Shark Steam Mop (gets up the gunk in my floors that is left behind by my husband and four daughters…okay, me too!)
2) My fuzzy slippers
3) My devotional book “Monday Morning Coffee” by Cindi Bradley
4) Noxzema facewash…my 6 year old says, “I love when you wash your face with that…you smell like a sweet Mommy.” I’ll never change brands because of that!!
I am the big 5-0 today and your post was a beautiful gift!! Thanks so much for your help and encouragement.
This isn’t a product exactly, but where would we be without computers and the internet?!! It opens the whole world to us and makes your wonderful blog possible. I’ve gotten hooked on Pinterest, also. My Keurig, Nook Color, iPhone, and slow cooker are wonderful. I also love Bare Escentuals mineral makeup. Wishing all a blessed 2012 – here’s to 50 more :-)
Thank you for the encouragement as always with your uplifting post. I decided to have a theme this year too, of “thankfulness”, daily writing down both the big and little gifts God brings into my life. Good thing as we had a flood in our basement Thursday and got the hospital bill for an ER trip from last October on the very same day.
The most useful thing in my household is my crockpot. I am thankful that I can pop a bunch of ingredients in it either in the morning or at lunchtime, and be able to spend the rest of the day working on other things, reading to my children, homeschooling, sewing, etc. and still have a delicious dinner later with little effort. I try to use it at least twice a week.
Oh Ruthie – – the Lord had used you to speak into my heart the EXACT words I needed to hear! I have been struggling with my feelings and allowing them to get in the way of what needs to be done – – which, I know, only causes MORE negative feelings when I look around and become overwhelmed with how behind I have become! However, I find that if I can just work through those initial FEELINGS and just GET STARTED, I can attack a job with a vengeance and I don’t quit til it’s DONE…and it never takes as much time as I think it’s going to! And what a great feeling when a job that has been nagging me for so long is finally accomplished!
My favorite product right now is my new Body Solutions Fusion 4″ memory foam mattress topper that we recently purchased at Shopko. I had been having DAILY headaches and was waking up most mornings with my neck all messed up and I have not had a bit of trouble with either issue in the 2 weeks or so that we have had the topper on our bed. No Excedrin for 2 weeks – Yay!!! That USED TO BE my favorite product! :) My favorite pick-me-up product is my “Pink – Fresh and Clean” Body Mist from Victoria’s Secret. Just a light, fresh fragrance that makes me feel pretty all over!
Thank you so much for the time you put into your blog – – it is such a blessing and an encouragement to me EVERY time I read your posts!
Happy New Year Aunt Ruthie !
Seeing a new post from you is like having the sun peek out after a cloudy morning!
My favorite thing these days is my Kindle, I’m reading more than I have in years … only problem is getting sidetracked from my to-do list !
My favorite products for the home would be my Shark Steam mop (best thing since sliced bread) and as a number of others have posted, Meyers cleaning products. I don’t mind cleaning nearly as much when it smells SO good ! Happy 2012 !!
As Chrischurch, New Zealand continues to endure earthquakes and aftershocks … a shake free day makes my heart sing … :)
A friend forwarded me a link to your post and I’m sure glad she did!! We’re both needed to hear this message! I have two favorite things that help lift my spirits as I plod along in keeping up with the house…an apple cinnamon candle that fills the whole house with a wonderful aroma and a $5 bouquet of fresh flowers from our local grocery. Just a nice treat now and then.
My favorite product is a heated blanket my hubby just bought me so I can feel toasty warm :)
I sure do appreciate you posting this blog – I needed a kick in the saddle to get back up, lol ;-) Pls enter me in your give-away I really like the “Simple Country Wisdom” book.
I loved the uplifting post!!! I love checking in at the sugarpie farmhouse! Well, I would have to say my favorite product is the Sharpie Paint markers!!! I love to recycle old planks of wood that has been around and give them new life with making cute little sayings to brighten the day!!! Thanks Again for the post because they do so inspire me!!!
Thank you for the reminder that keeping house and home shows love to my family. That was the inspiration for me to have a joyful heart when getting household chores done. Favorite hand lotion: Aveeno Daily…not greasy
I have so many favorite things! So hard to choose…but…today, one of my favorite things is a fresh pack of index cards. I tuck these into my Bible cover to write down verses that I want to remember and then post them around my house. It’s a great way to memorize all of those treasures that I need to store up in my heart. Aunt Ruthie, your post today was so encouraging, and it brought a smile to my face! Music, candles, apron and cleaning…that is my day today! Thank you.
Oh my gosh you are such a blessing. You put into words just how I plan on renewing my love of family and life in this glorious new year. Most of last year I was feeling sorry for myself as my life mirror yours in so many ways concerning children. My boys are off leading their lives and I was feeling left out even though I still have our younger surprise girl home with us. Well this year my motto is gonna be (besides LOVE) “you get what you give” and I need to give more. One simple thing that has helped pull me out of my slump is using the prettiest shower gel and matching lotion each morning before I start my day. It just makes me feel good. Again, this Yankee wife, mother, grandma wishes the most blessed New Year.
Well you have gone and done it again, wrote a wonderfully inspiring post. Thank you. Like you, I love the new year at it like a clean slate, and a time to think about your upcoming goals for you and your home for another year.
I am not sure I can come up with one thing(product) that I love and makes my life easier, but there are several things that I really do enjoy. I love the scent of a “Clean Linen” candle burning. It reminds me of fresh washed sheets coming in off the clothesline. I also enjoy my computer, there is a wealth of information at my fingertips. I love “peeking” into others lives when they share what works for them and there families, as well as helpful tips. A good book is a must for me. Never leave home with one. Put if I had to chose one product, it would most likely be a DayPlanner. It keeps me on track, where I need to be, and even gives room to keep ideas, goals, tips, etc. all in one place. It’s like my “other brain”.
Thanks for such a another great post. Love it when you write. Hoping this year you will share more of the things(products) you enjoy. Your chalkboard markers post is still one of my favs.
Hugs and blessings,
Cindy
Hello Sister in the Lord Jesus! Something that makes me just plain happy is Folgers coffee, with Coffee Mate, and Agave! If I don’t have it, I actually get sad…I do try to be thankful to the Lord for what I do have…But those three things make me so happy. Not that I lose my joy, I just really enjoy Folgers coffee, so much I wrote a jingle for it! LOL!
My favorite cleaning product EVER is Dow Bathroom Cleaner Scrubbing Bubbles. I use it to clean not only the bathroom, but kitchen: the inside and outside of the fridge, the stove top, counters, all laminate surfaces and even those hard-to-reach corners on the floor and baseboards. It works great for the tile on the fireplace hearth and yes, even my car dashboard! This cleaner is mild and leaves everything sparkling and smelling FRESH!
I love Mrs.Meyers Basil hand soap and dish soap! It makes doing the dishes a little more enjoyable!!
My favorite item is any of Mrs. Meyers cleaners – although the lavender scent is what I usually buy. I, too, was anticipating your next blog entry and blessed by it. Your pictures add that touch of “back home” that help me relax and rejuvenate. Thank you! And thank you for your wonderful giveaway!
I love your blog so much I want to marry it—cannot wait to read it each time it comes out. I have these fancy canisters in the kitchen but tucked inside them is a really old scoop that I use to measure out the sugar and flour, I love mixing my oldies with the new things that I love. Oh and you will not believe it but I’ve been married 34 years and am still using the same mixer I received as a wedding shower gift—every time I mix a pie or cake I go back in my mind to that special day.
I love L’oreal Volumious mascara. Also love Bath and Body Work bubble bath, several different scents. Thanks for the encouraging blog and fun giveaway.
I love the Philosophy line also and my go to products are Amazing Grace shower gel and body lotion. It a great way to start the day, you feel so refreshed and clean smelling!! Thank you so much for the wonderful giveaway!
Can’t live without my iron skillets!
Hi Aunt Ruthie,
What an inspirational and lovely post. I, too, love the possibilities of a brand new year!
My favorite product…hmm…that’s a tough one! I really like this cleaner they sell at Dollar Tree (yes! Dollar Tree!) called “Awesome” cleaner. It really is pretty awesome. lol It dissolves spots and greasy film on my counter tops, stove top, bakeware, and it has even worked on grease stains on laundry. Considering the price, I’d say it’s pretty “awesome”. lol
A second runner up would be the Magic Eraser. I love using it! Thank you for offering a giveaway. It’s very kind of you.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for such a uplifting post! I really needed to read this today.
And my new favorite product I can not wait to get my hands on is the Urban Decay eye makeup kit called Naked 2! Nothing makes me feelbetter than having a pretty face!
Wow! Thank you so much for writing this blog – I needed to hear (read!) these words as I sent my older kiddies off to school this morning. It has given me that gentle nudge I need to get up from this chair (& away from the computer) and get this house in tip-top shape!
My favorite make-up product right now is Estee Lauder’s Double-Wear Light foundation. It goes on so light & smooth and lasts all day! I also love Benefit’s Boi-ing concealer. Burt’s Bees makes a wonderful Citrus Facial Scrub that I can’t live without.
I look forward to reading about your reader’s favorite products!
It’s a little brown plastic scraper I got from Pampered Chef for my stoneware. I use it on all of my pans and dishes that have stuff stuck on them and it works so well. I use it on stoneware, non-stick, cast iron, etc. and to me it works better than steel wool.
Thank you for your blog. It came just in time to lift me up and get me on the path again.
Oh did your words ever hit home! Last year was one of the worst I have experienced. I lost my Mum in March, we moved into her home in May. Mind you, she had a whole home full, and so did I….so….I’m still sorting and stuffing! My teen daughter was hospitalized recently, I have been hospitalized twice recently, and the Drs. still haven’t figured out what is wrong with me. So, I have been so down on myself for so long.
Your words were taken sincerely about starting a new year!! Oh you have given me inspiration to start! Thank you sweetie!
Now my favorite item would be my electric tart burner in my kitchen. I have found I can burn the small votive Yankee Candles in it. I cut them in half, and once melted, just pick out the wick and throw it away. I also love Mrs. Stewart’s Bluing for washing my white clothing! It makes them sparkle!
Thanks so much for all the encouragement!
My favorite cleaning product right now is Windex Vinegar (it’s clear, not the normal blue stuff)…it’s multisurface and I love that I can use it on granite countertops! It also works great to clean up spots on rugs. Even used it on my friend’s cloth car seats the other day and it worked great!
Oh my you are such a blessing!
My new favorite product is from Bath & Body Works, Slatkins Co. Candle called “Sticky Toffee Pudding”. Is smells like a fresh baked caramel cake, and even comes with the recipe under the label!
Thank you for your cheerful dose of reality and encouragement with each of your thoughtful blog posts. I always look forward to reading! When thinking of the few things that I love, what comes to mind are the Scentsy candle warmers that make my kitchen and bedroom smell wonderful. For the kitchen I love a spicy vanilla, and for the bedroom I love a more lavender-type scent. I take my Nook reader with me everywhere I go for a few minutes of reading downtime here and there. I love that I can carry several books in the space of a small paperback. In my car I can’t live without organizer baskets and an ice chest. The baskets corral everything from blankets to reusable shopping bags, and the ice chest holds cool water and snacks for my kids. My new favorite item in the kitchen is the Keurig. My family loves having a beverage bar, and it’s so easy for everyone to have access to what they want – hot cocoa, hot tea, iced tea, plain or flavored coffee… It’s just wonderful! Those are a few of my favorite things, but I’m easy to please and I have many, many favorite things around the house!
Thanks again for the wonderful encouraging blog!
I LOVE Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! Love your blog and look forward to reading it every time you post…thanks so much for insperation!! :)
Happy New Year!!! I totally agree with you about LOVE is the main ingredient to a happy home. Without it, my home is utter chaos! The Lord just impressed this same idea to me this morning in my quiet time with Him. One of my favorite products is the Pampered Chef pizza stone. We have discovered making pizza’s on the grill. Just be prepared that when you use your pizza stone on the grill it becomes totally black, but still works just the same. You can make your own pizza dough, or just buy the canned or frozen versions. Cook the dough brushed with a little olive oil first, flip it over and top with your favorite pizza toppings. Awesome!!!!!
Well Aunt Ruthie.. you have certainly made me life sweeter! I just Love your Bones! Your tips for more love and joy in the journey just inspire me heart so! One of the things that makes me happy is great chocolate and I tell you, it makes all the difference in the recipe… Guitard is my favorite brand. They are a bit pricey but you cant beat em! They also double as a mama pick me up when eaten by the handful… ( Did I just confess that?! Shhhh!) I have a passion for pretty and I love great make-up.. some of the keystone pieces in my collection are Kat Von D tatto cover up .. available at Sephora.. it covers so well… anything from freckles to age spots. Also I love lashes.. anything that makes em pop! So Benefits “they’re real” mascara… make it a must.. also available at Sephora! Here’s to more “LOVE” in the new year! XOXOXOX! ~ Amy
Oh Aunt Ruthie you’ve done it again! Another inspirational post came my way and exactly what I needed to hear, so thank you from the bottom of my messy, don’t “feel” like it heart. I loved when you said don’t let your feelings be the boss of you. I’m going to be thinking that alot in the next few weeks. Hugs from one of your many blog admirers out here.
I love Downy’s “Simple Pleasures” fabric softener in the lavender serenity scent. It makes doing laundry a pleasant experience and my clothes always smell wonderful. I also love Better Homes and Gardens Wax Warmer. You can buy one at Walmart for only $15 and it makes the house smell wonderful without the worry of burning it down.
Thank you for your wonderful, inspiring post. My heart has been filled up with a whole lot of love.
Oh Aunt Ruthie – Doncha know that I was soooo hoping for a post from you today – opened my email, and there you were!! LOVE is exactly what the Lord has been talking to us up here in Washington state about for the New Year too! Thanks a million for the edifying and encouraging words to be who and what we are called to be! And I was just having an argument with those “don’t want to feelings” right before I read your post. Perfect timing!
I find that I can’t live without my “Magic Erase” by Mr. Clean or Softscrub with Bleach. Also “Goop” from the auto dept of WalMart is fabulous for spots of any kind on the laundry – even ink pen! It only costs $1.20 per container or so. Love it – and LOVE your posts!!!
I love your blog it is always so positive, encouraging, and uplifting. I love Cetaphil cream for moisturizing and plain Vaseline as lip balm. Both are cheap and work wonders. I also love Moroccan Oil for my hair. A bit pricey but a little goes a long way. I have long hair and can make a bottle last just under a year. Thank You!
My favorite is a mini food chopper/processor that came with my husband. Ina Garten used one the other day on her show, and its just wonderful.
And Jergens lotions in the original scent…reminds me of childhood and happy times and my mother.
Happy New Year. Another article well said. I love the boot bracelets. What a simple, but wonderful, idea. Your emails always perk up my day (and my life!).
Ruthie, Thanks! for taking time to share with everyone. I wait for your new posts. One item I’m crazy about is Sunflower Self Rising Corn Meal Mix. In my opinion it makes the best cornbread. Mix it up and bake it in my Mama’s iron skillet. Get out the butter and your all ready for some down home good eating. Enjoy!
Love you!!!
I would have to say my favorite kitchen item is Pampered Chef stones. And my all-time, recommend to everyone, can’t live without makeup items is Avon washoff waterproof mascara!!!
A favorite in our kitchen is the Pampered Chef chopper. It’s a great tool for chopping up onions, peppers, oreos, whatever for a recipe – hubby calls it his – that’s fine with me, I love help in the kitchen.
Love your blog!
My product is a notebook.
This notebook keeps my life, home, family and business running smoothly. You see, it is my “To-Do List Notebook”.
Any notebook will do. Of course a pretty one is the Bestest!
I have received many blessing but an organized mind is not one of them. But being organized is the key to staying calm and productive.
I figured out many moons ago that if I take 2 minutes a day to write and look at my daily to-do list then life is soooo much easier!!!
This product will save you time, money, apologizies and stress. Get ready to hear “How do you get so much done?”
Love your blog as always, Lots of hugs, Leslie
EEKK! I loved reading your new posts!
Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration in it and a give a was to boot! My oh my!
Well, one thing I can think of right off that makes my house work a little more cheery is a cd player that is mounted under a kitchen cabinet and I can listen while I work! Also a special birthday present from my hubby was a new kitchen sink and faucet and because we all know how much time is spent in front of it, I don’t mind quite as much now :-p
Blessings!
I just love my new Cameo Silhouette machine! On my son’s birthday, I cut a banner for his room, so when he woke up there it was! Thanks for this great giveaway.
Ruthie, I just love your blog. I feel right at home everytime I sit down to read. Your style is so much like mine and the vintage photos you share remind me of some of the old photos of family members from simpler times that I have framed and hung in my home,
You have encouraged and inspired me. Thanks a bunch. I love books that teach the old ways-back to basics – so charming, informative, and heart-warming. I love old “farmer’s wife’ canning and cook books. Thanks for continuing to encourage. Sincerely, Benita
What is my favorite product? I have become old and cynical. I enjoyed your message today and many of the messages of your readers. Somedays are just hard! “The problem with life is that it is just so daily,” someone said. YUP! I think your enthusiasm is wonderful, a tremendous product of which I never get enough. Reading your post today has allowed me to change my attitude and to feel more equal to the tasks ahead.
LOVE your blog!!! May God bless you for your encouraging words of wisdom! I love not only a clean home but also one that smells that way. I have tried many cleaners but always go back to Pine-Sol & Windex. I have really enjoyed reading all of the comments. Thank you Sugar Pie!!! :)
I love the sound of all of these products, but I would have to say my favorite would be the cowgirl boot bracelet. Especially since I got a gift certificate to buy my first pair of cowgirl boots for Christmas!!!! Yay!!!!!! I am so excited to go pick them out. They would look so darling with the beautiful bracelet. Thank you so much for your posts. They are so inspirational to a new Christian and a new stay at home mother. Thanks again Aunt Ruthie!!
Hi Aunt Ruthie! Boy, your post is exactly what I needed to hear today, thank you!
Some of my favorite products are: the Lo-Lo bar and lip balm from Bar-Maids.com – so many yummy scents to choose from and they work so well for dry hands and lips! Also, I love my Scentsy warmer, it makes my house smell so nice (since I have a husband, 3 teenagers, 2 dogs, and an old house with old carpet, it’s a lifesaver!) Their food-oriented scents are wonderful.
Thanks for the giveaway! :-)
~Noelle
Hi Ruthie, thanks for your wonderful written words pointing us to truth again for a new year and blessings to you and your precious family for 2012! I love simple and am not into gadgets, although one would think that was a lie when searchng kitchen drawers for something needed. Love the satisfaction of creating my Love Nest by cleaning, rearranging, loading up fruit and stunning flowers as decorations, all done with a thankful heart for my countless blessings and of course, a must, Hillsong worship music cranked to the max! Yee haa, happy new year everyone….looking back with thanks, looking forward with HOPE xxxx

I really enjoy your blog. I love to quilt and sew so anything to do with that is what I like. Plus books I really love books and reading!!
Thanks for the chance to win some awesome prizes.
This time of year, I am all about getting everything in order, so I love to sit with my Gooseberry Patch cookbook and a menu planner pad and plan some new meals for my family! I also love to go to Target and get some Method cleaners. This gets me motivated to get my kitchen clean and shopping done. Happy new year, and thank you for a beautiful blog :)
Oh, I do love books that help you simplify things! Especially with Country Wisdom! :D
Thank you again for the encouraging words. I really needed to read them. I have been talking to a friend about how our attitude towards cleaning (which we don’t want to do) has everything to do with how we show love to our family. I’m gonna share this with her.
God bless, Heather
I don’t have a favorite product because I love so many products. If I had to pick one of my top ones though I’d have to pick Pampered Chef prducts. I know that Pampered Chef isn’t all that inexpensive but I save up to buy a couple pieces from time to time because their products are so good. Some of the tools make my job in the kitchen easy, some make it fun and others are just really cool tools to work with. I even enjoy having a party from time to time. :)
BagBalm would be my favorite product
Those rubber grippers to open jars would be my favorite gadget
I need your post. Thank you again for inspiration!
Loved your blog as usual. You always know what to say and how to say it so that it is truly inspirational. Thank you. My favorite thing is my computer. How else could I have “met” you and so many other wonderful people. You all have enriched my life.
I love…love the boot bracelets…..they are so cute…I love to read your blog it is always inspiring..thank you for bringing GOD to the forefront!
God Bless
Kandy
Your posts are sunshine on this wet, northwest day! Thank you! My favorite products in the kitchen: my KitchenAid and vintage kitchen tools that harken back to simpler times. My favorite products in the craft room: adhesive pop dots (I use them all over the place!) and my shark steamer for fabric.
Thank you, Aunt Ruthie for your uplifting words!
-Tracy
My favorite product,..Candles. All kinds! I love the how lighting one or two can change my mood if I am down, make my home feel homier :) or lighting one for the dinner table just because. :) I buy different scents for different rooms in the house. I love seasonal candles & especially all the yummy holiday ones.
One of my favorite products is the Purex Crystals. They make the laundry smell wonderful. I have 4 boys so this is important. My #1 life changing product is a Digital Pressure cooker. It’s NOT scary and you get to fix good, real food FAST! It stays on the counter because I use it about every other day.
Yes sir EE Bob, I’m ready for 2012! Thank you for the inspiring blog. Ciao
I honestly just tool 2011 to read the book you have one here “Queen of the Castle!” I HAVE LOVED IT!!!! It is one of my favorite reads!! Thank you!!! :)
I love Philosophy products too. Can’t live without my Amazing Grace perfume – it’s so light and clean smelling, it has a very “approachable” scent. Just don’t feel ready in the morning to set off for my day until I have spritzed some on. Happy New Year to all!
I get so excited when I see you have a new post. I get that feeling when I was a kid getting ready to open a present. What a wonderful gift the good Lord has given you. I think one of my favorite things is from Pampered Chef, it is called the Mix n’ Chop. I just love that thing. I also love my coupon binder. I have saved so much money this last year using it and buying things on sale.
This will be the fourth time I am trying to comment. Somehow, it will not go through.
I love to soak in a hot tub of Ahava Bath Salts and I always burn candles. I love the way candles create an atmosphere of calm and serenity.
I always like reading your blog. I find it inspirational and uplifting. Thank you!
Some of my faves: Dr. Bronner’s bar soaps make my face sing!! Old fashioned witch hazel for astringent, B & B Works Lemon Soap for the kitchen, Kiss My Face Olive Oil Soap, Febreze w/Gain scent, Benefit Boi-ing Concealer is magic, Pure Grace perfume (or any of the Philosophy Grace perfumes!)… I could go on and on!! My hardworking sweet hubby & I are so looking forward to a wonderful 2012!!
SUGARPIE your words today have touched me, the Lord is working through you and for your devotion and inspiration I thank you. The message you spoke today is the best giveaway to start 2012 with.
Have a great year! Hugs!!
Happy New Year to you Aunt Ruthie and all readers!
I want to share with you that for the past several years each January
I choose an inspiring word to focus on for the new year.
This year my word is “wisdom” and I simply look for it daily in books,
ads, conversations, Bible verses, etc. Anyway, while reading your
post I was delighted to discover the “Simple Country Wisdom” book by Country Living! I am definitely going to purchase this book.
It is amazing how God can use one word to remind me that He truly
cares about us and is with us at all times! God Bless You!
Thank you so much for the wonderful New Year’s post. Inspiration to start all over again with a good attitude! My favorite product right now is probably Murphy’s Oil soap which I dilute to use on my hardwood floors – they get so dirty this time of year from tracked in snow/mud. Thanks and have a wonderful day!
It has been a blessing to read your article, a very important life lesson. Learning to recognize our weaknesses and move forward to embrace life and the blessings of each day with enthusiasm. I thank you for each of your inspiring words You are in the service of God, you joyfully participate in giving your talents, ideas, time for a better world. Have a wonderful day and many blessings.
My favorite product now is my Ninja blender. I use it to mix up a delicious protein shake every morning using powdered protein, a frozen banana and frozen berries. It has really helped me to shed 67 pounds in this past year.
I have also found pancake batter in a can, looks like a whipped cream can. It came in the yogurt and cottage cheese area at my grocery. It works great, and you can make just 1-2 pancakes at a time. My little grandsons loved it, and I find it so convenient.
Ah, what a breath of fresh air and encouraging incentive for the year. Although I don’t have any products to recommend right now, it was fun to see what others have posted!
Thank you so much for your post! Many in our culture today have the mindset that having a clean, sparkling, good smelling home doesn’t matter much. I hear these voices so often that it’s very refreshing to hear someone validate my own feelings. As a fellow believer I would have to say that I think the Holy Spirit has definetly given you the gift of encouragement. I am so glad you are using that gift! As far as favorite products go I love to put on some old jazz/Big Band cd’s to clean the house. It puts a spring in my step!
Thank you so much for your inspiring words, once again! Always uplifting…a real gift you have. I’m sure that you make God’s heart very happy!
I love Murphy’s Oil Soap, Bar Keeper’s Friend, my grandmother’s cast iron pans & my Pampered Chef scissors and Dove soap!
I love this post! You are such an inspiration to all the young mothers, and grandmothers too! If more women would take this attitude the world would be a better place. I know it’s hard sometimes to keep this kind of spirit up, but as long as you are trying your best, God will help you do the rest!
I just discovered you two weeks ago. I really enjoy your “pep talks” and feel encouraged and inspired after reading your posts. I also like the idea of a New Year’s word vs. resolution. Some of my favorite products are Philosophy Pure Grace (I use the shower gel, body lotion, perfume and the deodorant – no competing fragrances!), Benefit Remove It oil-free makeup remover, Swiffer Dry Sweeper, Lysol wipes (the purple ones with the scrubby side) and my enameled cast-iron dutch oven. Another great resource – the public library. You can get books, music, movies, use their databases – free! Thanks for offering this great give away!
I wanted to tell you I love all of your advice and inspiration to be a good housewife and mom. Some of my favorite products are Yankee Candles burning when I am doing housework, they smell wonderful and makes me feel good. I also love any Philosophy bubble bath and shower gel. Taking a bath at night relaxes me and the bubble bath makes me feel special.
My favorite kitchen product is my immersion blender. I use it for everything: soup, hot chocolate, homemade faux-gingerbread lattes, etc,
I also love using clear page protectors to store all of my children’s artwork in a binder. Wish I’d figured that out earlier!
My favorite product is Mrs. Meyers Geranium spray. I love that I get to smell such a treat while I clean counters, doors, etc. The scent lingers, too.
Hi Aunt Ruthie, its Elizabeth from Minden, Nv. Actually I moved to Winnemucca, but still living the country life. A few of my favorite items are the short handled cookie spatulas such as this one from William Sonoma http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/narrow-stainless-steel-spatula/?pkey=cturner-spatulas, but the ones from the dollar store are just as good! This lil spatula is great for getting each cookie off the plate without them flipping off like they do with the long handled spatulas. I just love this cute lil thang! A new beauty product favorite of mine is the lip balm called Chicken Poop, its great for those dry wintry days. Awful name, great product! I just wish they would of called it something like Chicken Lips or something like that! lol
Hillbilly Spaghetti Pie has gone viral on Pinterest! I posted it a while back and get many e-mails a day that it has been repinned. And it is soooo good! I’m going to take it to a friend who is having surgery next week. She’ll love it! Thanks!
my favorite time saver is my trusty crockpot! and my other fave is…the winter candle from bath and body…love the smell! and…love your blog!
What a great post! And so appropriate to start off the new year. I don’t know about you Aunt Ruthie, but I’m not a fan of cleaning toilets. I recently started using a great product that I wanted to share with you and your followers. It’s the Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-a-Clean Fresh Brush 2-in-1 system. It contains a wand that hangs from a hook hidden on the side or back of your toilet tank. Cleaning pads are attached to the wand and flushed once cleaning is complete. This system makes toilet cleaning a breeze. The second idea I wanted to share is one that my husband came up with. His idea was to use dry Swiffer cloths to wipe dust off of painted walls and ceilings. The long handle on the Swiffer mop makes this a pretty easy job. I actually use the Dollar General brand dry cloths as they are cheaper than the Swiffer brand and work just as well for this task. Next, we have a large area rug in our living room that our grandbabies enjoy playing on. We noticed while playing on the floor with them that the rug was not comfortable. We purchased regular carpet pad from a local carpet dealer, cut it about one inch smaller than the outer edges of the rug, then placed it beneath the rug. The rug now has a plush feel and allows for hours of comfortable playing! I have an idea for your followers who like the look of the old punched tin piesafes. My husband and I recently built our new home. We did much of the work ourselves. I wanted the punched tin look on the doors and drawer fronts in our study. After hours of Internet searching only to discover that I couldn’t find antique tin in the correct sizes we decided to try the “tin look” panels sold at home improvement stores. My husband cut the panels to the proper sizes and attached them to our doors and drawers with Liquid Nails. We are both very happy with the end result and have received many compliments on our “tin” look. These panels can be found in the kitchen countertop and backsplash area at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Thank you for another great post! May God bless you and your family in the coming year.
I love philosophy shower gels and lotions too. They are lovely.
Here are a couple of my favorite ideas in the kitchen: Keep a box of latex gloves to use when cleaning a chicken off the bones or squeezing lemons or limes (sometimes these fruits can hurt a lot if you have a cut or dry hands). I wash my hands so many times in the kitchen so using gloves for big messes allows me to wash less or have an easier time washing! Another idea is to buy little four pack bottles of wine to use in recipes if you aren’t much of a wine drinker. I wouldn’t use a whole bottle of say Cabernet or Chardonnay but one of those little bottles is usually just the right amount for a recipe.
Here is a darling item I have in my kitchen which holds kosher salt next to my cooktop. Go to qvc.com and look at item K29104. It is on clearance even! I have it in yellow.
Thank you so much for your posts! I really love the ideas and inspiration. My favorite product right now is Jergens original lotion. The scent has long been my favorite and dry hands are a real issue in the winter months. Applying Jergens is a prelude to prayer, since it settles my mind and puts my hands together. You can only think good thoughts when you are massaging your hands and elbows and smelling a wonderful fragrance.
Peace and happiness to you and yours in the coming year
What an inspiring post to start the new year off right! I love my kitchen aid mixer, my H20 mop and my cuisinart hand blender. The hand blender is great to make my morning smoothie, or perfect for pureeing that warm pot of soup
Oh Aunt Ruthie, how you make my heart sing with your uplifting words! Thank you for your positive, upbeat messages. I have to say I love to have candles lit all around he ouse to cozy things up. I also love Pure Grace perfume by Philosphy. So clean and fresh! And Mrs. Meyers cleaning products…smell and work great.
I always smile when I read your posts! You are such an inspiration Aunt Ruthie. Some of my favorite things are: my Pink Frosted Layer Cake bath gel from Philosophy for relaxing, Method pink grapefruit all-purpose cleaner for cleaning, my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks for cooking and reading and displaying. Most importantly my Bible for soul-tending. Oh, and Better Homes and Gardens candles from Wal-Mart for making the house smell great. I got a Blueberry Cobbler one that was just amazing.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and especially those two precious grandbabies!
I always look forward to your posts. You inspire me to be a better wife & mom. I am also encouraged by your faithful walk with our Lord. Your writings help when I need them most.
My favourite products: my Kitchenaid mixer, Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, and Crabtree & Evelyn products.
I wish you all the best in 2012.
Happy New Year!
Some of my favorite house and home products are:
soy candle
my Kitchen Aid mixer
Bar Keeper’s Friend
& last but not least Chalk Ink Markers :)
Thank you for your direct words that inspired and convicted. Thank you for taking the time to write and minister to so many.
My new favorite product was a Christmas gift from my MIL- an apple corer and slicer from William Sonoma it cuts them thin… 16 slices! I have taken an apple to work everyday since I got it :).
I just discovered your site this evening and I love it! Like you, I really like Philosophy products, especially those with warm scents.
My favorite thing right now is my Olive Tree Bible Reader app for my iphone. It is free and has a yearly reading plan built right in. I am a much better version of myself if I get a daily dose of the Living Word.
My favorite cleaning product is BAKING SODA. It gets sharpie marker off 3-ring binders, use it to clean pots instead of harsh cleansers, use it in your laundry, use it to make a paste and scrub scuff marks off vinyl floors,…
My second favorite cleaning product is VINEGAR. Use it in your dishwasher’s rinse agent dispenser instead of harsh chemicals, use it in your rinse in place of fabric softener (no vinegar smelling clothes), use it with baking soda to keep sink drains flowing regularly, …
Thanks for your encouraging words, Ruthie.
Hi, I’m not entering your give-way because I live in the UK and postage would be horrendous! I just wanted to say how much I look forward to your posts and how encouraging and uplifting I find them. You are always spot on! Bless you and…just for the sake of interest… my favourite product at the moment in Garnier BB balm-a light foundation and moisturiser in one.
Thank you so much for the wonderful post!! I needed a little encouragement to get my “get up and go” going!!
My favorite things are my crock pot, my kitchen aid mixer, and a yummy candle burning:)
Such a much needed post to kick off the new year. I have really struggled with happy homemaking lately with so many outside pressures. I just want to take my husband and children, lock them in the house with me and spend days secluded from the world! My goals for the new year include making our home more welcoming, not for guests, but for the family. I love the jumpstart you have shared!
Hi ya!! <3 A few of my favorite things are: Burt’s Bees regular chapstick. It always leaves my lips smooth. I love the minty taste & smell it leaves too. I use it everyday. Yummy! Another favorite thing are my PINK, soft, cushiony, velvety slippers that I got from Walmart for $12.00. I originally bought them a few days before I went into the hospital to give birth to my first child, my son, 6 months ago. The slippers just made me feel special in the hospital & they bring a big “ahhhhhh…” everytime I put them on everyday. *HAPPY FEET* … And I can wash them in the washer all the time too, so they remain soft & smelling gooood. As far as cleaning stuff, I love to clean the kitchen & bathroom counter tops with the yellow Windex Multi-Surface antibacterial spray. It cleans really well and it leaves such an amazing, refreshing, lemon, summery smell. It’s awesome!! Makes ME feel all sparkley after I clean with it. :) Have a happy & yummy day!! ~ Cindy
I was sooo happy to see your New Year entry. They are actually my favorite of the whole year. You are such an inspiration that I print off and re-read some of the blogs over and over. (I killed my computer at home so don’t have ready access whenever I need a lift)
Don’t you just love a new start? This is the time of year you know the garden will grow perfectly, those stubborn pounds will magically fall off my hips, and all the chickens will each lay at least one egg every day!
One of my favorite “tools” is the book Sink Reflections by Marla Cilley aka the Fly lady. I guess I need someone to hold me to the fire and her schedule of cleaning really works well for me. In theory, the home is always ready for company. In realty, my “company” knows where the dishwasher and the broom are and on occasion, use them.
Love the Boot Bling! It would be so cute on my new red cowgirl boots and I would promise not to wear them while cleaning the barn or chicken house.
Keep up the good work, you are a blessing to us all.
The things that I really love for every single day right now in my home are :
1) White VInegar…is inexpensive but used in some many ways from cooking to cleaning. I use it as a rinse agent in the dishwasher for sparkling clean dishes as well as a window cleaner.
Goodbye expensive chemicals! Hello Bulk Vinegar.
2) my Scentsy Warmers and Bricks… they are so easy to use, safe and keep my house smelling fresh and inviting and I can warm different scents throughout the week or mix and match.
3) The Internet as it has provided me with recipes and tips and encouragement from other Christian Wives in the blink of an eye.
Orange Miracle, it is a Stanley Home Product and I love it, nothing else cuts through grease stains like this product.
A favorite product, especially for that dry winter skin, is shea body butter from The Body Shop, as well as their coconut body scrub. The coconut scrub makes me feel tropical when I am in the shower and not like it is 35 degrees outside, and the body butter has a comforting, non-perfumy smell and moisturizes so well. Love them both!! I have a feeling I would also LOVE the funnel cake body wash, as well as the other cute items in this giveaway…..SO FUN!!!! Thank you!
Oh My how you lift my spirits and inspire me to start Spring Cleanin’ in January! I do find Winter Cleanin’ is a good time because I’m cooped up inside most of the time anyway. I love Murphy’s Oil Soap to clean all things wood. It leaves a light, nice smell around the house when all the woodwork and wood cabinets have been rubbed good and clean with this product. I think sometime even finished wood must be porous and hold on to odors in the house because it sure makes a difference when they are freshly clean. The wood is shiny clean and conditioned until I get inspired to do it again!
Thankyou for always being encouraging! You are like a spiritual sister to so many and we need your voice and advice. It is much appreciated.
As for favorite products, I just finished off a large bottle of Mrs. Meyers lavender concentrate cleaner…you mix it with H2o in a spray bottle. With four small children and alot of messes it lasted us FIVE years! Also could not live without Burt’s Bees lip shimmer.
Much love and blessings to you,
Marybeth
Hey Aunt Ruthie!
Thank you so much for the new excitement to LOVE my family you have put in my heart! I am so thankful for your wisdom. My favorite product is the large size scentsy warmer. It makes my main living area smell Amazing. Right now I have perfectly pomegranted and it is such a nice clean yummy smell for the new year! Thanks for the givaway, God Blees you!
Hi Auntie Ruth!
I just love all your posts, but I am especially inspired by your new year’s post. I really appreciate your “outing” idea. As I am growing older (I’m just a little over twenty) and taking on more responsibility, the idea of having an outing once a week, just for me, is very refreshing! This week I’m going to do a little thrift-store shopping (after I get my hair done), and next week I’m going to the movies!
As for my favorite product, hmmm. I think that the prize goes to my new Revlon Ionic 1875 hair dryer, which I got for Christmas. I have short hair and it does a wonderful of quickly drying it. And my hair feels so soft, that you wouldn’t even think that I had blow-dried it!
Blessing to you, Aunt Ruthie,
Jodie
Hi Aunt Ruthie!
My Norpro doughnut pans!! I can make delicious, fresh baked, doughnuts for my family anytime. Warm, chocolate doughnuts with smooth chocolate icing and valentine heart sprinkles! Hmmmm. Lovin’ from the oven!
We have a new phrase around our home……”Wait a minute, I’m having an Aunt Ruthie moment!” It is said aloud when one has a decorating inspiration that must be carried out that moment or when a special touch is added to an everyday item.
Thank you, Aunt Ruthie, and may God continue to bless your home sweet home.
Ohhhh Aunt Ruthie…That’s too hard of a question….but I am loving Bath and Body’s Lavendar Jasmine Aromatherapy “anything”! Bed linen spray, lotions, body wash……just so very soothing!
Would love love love to be entered in your Giveaway!
Happy January to you!
Love you and your sweet inspiring blog….
Tanya
Another GREAT post, Ruthann…and one I needed! I always feel so encouraged and inspired when I read your posts. Thanks for the admonition to be the kind of wives, mamas, and homemakers God wants us to be. It’s a message we don’t often hear in today’s world…and you DO make a difference.
What a great give-away! Some of my favorite things are my KJV One Year Bible (which organizes my reading for me…OT, NT, Psalms, and Proverbs), my MP3 player that allows me to listen to uplifting podcasts and music when I walk or clean, and any product that smells like Gain (laundry detergent, dish soap, Mr. Clean with Gain, etc.) For some reason the smell of Gain evokes good memories of sun-kissed laundry hanging on the clothesline. I don’t even mind cleaning potties with Mr. Clean/Gain! LOL
Thanks again for this wonderful post and I pray God’s richest blessings on you and yours in 2012!
I love, love, love Sally Clarkson books on parenting. As a homeschooling mother of 5, I love reading Sally’s gentle, cheerful, intentional approach to mothering. It reminds me of a lot of the great advice I read on your blog.
Thanks! I’ve been in a slump lately and your post helped me get back on track! These days, I’m loving my Mrs. Meyer’s products. I got a candle for Christmas and it was so great! I LOVE my mason jars and use them for our glasses as well as repurposing them around the house. I also LOVE my Paula Deen chopping block!
Happy 2012!
I am ADDICTED to my white vinegar!!! Mix it with a little Dawn dish soap, and it’s the best counter and shower cleaner ever. Mix it with water and it cleans glass better than Windex and disinfects anything just as well as (and SAFER than) Clorox or Lysol! There are just a MILLION different things you can do with it and it’s SO inexpensive!
First off, thank you so much for writing this specific entry. You really touched my heart and motivated me. I have been allowing my feelings to “be the boss of me” for a few months now and you gave me the kick in the patootie that I needed. Thanks!!
Over the past year I’ve been trying to learn new country skills so that I can be home more, spend less and be the wife and mama that I want to be. Two publications have proven invaluable to me in that pursuit: Countryside and Mother Earth News – great stuff!
Happy New Year and many, many blessings to you and yours.
Thank you for the great article, Aunt Ruthie!
Right now, my favorite product is Gain laundry soap. I plan to make my own in the coming year, just to give it a shot and see how it works. But I love Gain, in the original scent. It makes the whole closet seem fresher! :)
Thank you for the giveaway!
I want to thank you so much for your encouraging words! Sometimes we can let ourselves get bogged down by the day to day tasks of a family & a home. This was a fresh point of view and I will wake tomorrow with a new attitude!
As for my favorite product…..THE MAGIC ERASER!!! How did I ever live with out this wonder? I use it everyday for so many different reasons. In a house with 2 active kiddos & a outdoorsy husband this thing is a must!
I’d LOVE to check out both of those books! :) Thanks for the opportunity. Your encouraging/motivating words are always so wonderful to soak up, thanks! :)
~H
All your products look wonderful, I think the best one of my “self nouishment” would have to be the philosopy Sprinkles Funnel Cake . I don’t actually know what a funnel cake is but would like to taste one for myself. For me its the product I could have in my home that no-one else would use . I could pamper myself and feel just a little bit girly – which is what we all want.
I hope you read my comments
Mandy
Wow – Thank you God for allowing me to read this post TODAY. I would certainly love to win the contest, but I’m really just commenting to say Thank you to God and Thank you to You “Aunt Ruthie” for the words of wisdom today.
I am guilty of having a “cold” temp in my house lately…. and not feeling like doing anything else! Now, that God has checked my heart – through the words of your post – I must get busy. I CAN do this – with God’s help!
Blessings to you and yours.
Hey, Aunt Ruthie! I cannot wait to go back down to Branson so I can visit your CUTE booth! I would have to say my favorite product/products would be for cleaning Mr. Clean Magic erasers and beauty Sally Hanson’s Instant dry nail polish.
Thanks for your Godly encouragement, you are truly a Titus 2 lady and I enjoy every post.
well giddy up miss ruthie!

Oooh how fun, I have so many favorite things… one is Twist of Peppermint lotions products at Bath and Body..I scoop this up and stock up over the Christmas season. I love my Rachel Ray large 14″ non stick skillet, I love Vanilla anything, candles etc. they just give a homey homemade feel, I love strings of white lights anywhere I can put them…and I love my fireplace where we cozy up and read..currently reading aloud Little House in the Big Woods to my 10 yr. old daughter…so many things that are so simple but make a whole lot of happy!!! Oooh that pink bath soap looks luscious! wow!
Reading your post is a refreshment to the soul And a Reminder to love as Christ has loved us and laid down His life for us!!! Now the challenge put it into practice. My favorite thing to use and read is the cookbook “more with less” mennonite Cookbook. Good basic, money savings ideas. Thanks for the encouraging words!!
I just recently found your blog and have been working my way through the older posts – I was trying to hold out reading this new one until I caught up but I am glad I snuck and read it since there is a give away :)
Two new favorite things since Christmas –
1. My Eos smooth lip balm sphere – it looks like a cute little pink ball and opens up to reveal a delicious summer fruit smelling orgnanic lip balm – I love it – people keep asking me what it is – I got it for my girls stockings and had to go back and get one for myself –
2. My new Pandora charm bead bracelet – I chose a bead to represent each of my 4 children and one for my husband – the little house because I homeschool and an L for our last name – I find myself looking at it all the time and thinking about my family and why all do all the things I do – anytime I start feeling overwhelmed or out of sorts about all the day has in store I look at my beads and remember “why” I love it! Thanks for all of your encouraging words – they are really hitting home over here in our household and helping me through the busy busy days with 4 kids ages 4-12
Hi Ruthie! Your website brings so much happiness to me….you will never know…but I know and God knows! So Thank you!!!!
Some of my favorite products…..Hmmmmm
My sweet hubby bought me a beautiful red crock pot this Fall, and it has been such a blessing to my family! I have four teenagers!!! All boys! And no one is home at the same time! My goal is to put something yummy in my red crock pot every morning….then the smells bless my family and the boys eat out of it all afternoon and evening.
This blog entry is going on constant-re-read status! I really needed this reminder. And my current favorite product is probably Murphy Oil Soap. LOL It just smells nice and when I use it on my wood floors I feel like it’s shiny and fresh without a bunch of chemicals.
I just discovered your site and it has been such a blessing. I really enjoy candles, especially from at home america. My favorite scent is “heaven scent”. Also, I like to collect cookbooks as I cook in the kitchen of my church for Wednesday night suppers. In my collection, I especially like the no guesswork cooking: recipes you can trust. If any of you ladies out there cook for large groups of people, the recipes include a version for the home as well as for 50 or so people.
Love your site and your blog! I’ve always called me sweet babies sugar pies and I recently started a blog. When I googled sugarpieblessings to make sure it wasn’t taken, I came across you. So glad I did. Love your site. I’ll be visiting back often!
One of my favorite tools is my Flylady Cozi Calendar. It is a free app that I can use on my phone and on my computer. You can use it simply as a calendar, adding in your personal appointments. The Flylady missions are added right in, too. You can send reminders to yourself or your family via email. You can make shopping lists, to do lists. There are lots of ways for it to make your life easier!
Love reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your life and inspiration.
Carol from MO
Lovely post, very encouraging. Lately I am loving my breadmaker, turning out yummy warm loaves of bread is just wonderful! However I would love to give those scissors you showed a good workout in the kitchen :)
I always love your posts and the way you renew the sense of warmth associated with motherhood and the making of a home! Right now I am loving the new organizer/planner that I got for Christmas so that nothing is left undone or forgotten!
I love your product review and your blog.
One of my favorite things is N.Y.C. lipstick. I don’t spend a lot of money on cosmetics so I like the feeling of treating myself to a new lipstick without breaking the bank.
Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.
Happy Trails and Happy Homemaking,
Holly in Kentucky
I really needed to hear this today! Thank you for your encouraging words!! My favorite product is my shop vac! LOL but it gets in little corners & crevices my broom can’t reach!!
Thank you for all the encouraging words for the new year. You always know the right things to say. My favorite cleaning product is Mr. Cleans Magic Eraser. It’s a miracle to see the dirt come up so easily from the grout on my kitchen floor. It is so great on walls, refrigerator and anthing else. What a great invention!!
I was really encouraged by your post. Just the kick in the pants I needed as I was discouraged and letting it determine my actions to others.
I think my favorite things are my cookbooks. I sit in the evening and read them like novels. DH thinks I’m balmy in the head.
Those scissors sound awesome! I need to check them out.
Love this post! Just what i needed to start the new year off right. My favorite things, among many others, are Borax and vinegar. Nothing like natural cleaners! No harsh chemicals getting in my little one’s lungs. I hate when you spray something down and have to leave the room because the fumes are so strong! Just not healthy!
Thank you for always making me smile…your the best…
Great post Aunt Ruthie! I so agree with your wise words about our feelings. Thanks for doing all the work that goes into your wonderful posts!

What a great post… so encouraging and exactly what I needed to read. :) I sure hope I made the deadline for that giveaway! Oh my goodness, I know exactly what to do with that boot bracelet! ;) Absolutely adorable! I am definitely going to put the 52 Things Kids Need From a Mom on my list of books to read, too! :)
Hi Ruthie!
I just wanted to let you know that I finally did my post using a couple of photos from your blog. Here’s the link
http://roseofsharonmaytest.blogspot.com/2012/01/sweet-little-choirgirl.html
I found a cute little choirgirl statue that reminded me of your darling choirboy. Please stop by and check it out. Thank you for giving me permission to use your photos. I did link my readers back to you.
May the Lord richly bless you today!
Hugs, Sharon
A nice lipgloss makes me feel really pretty, even when life is difficult. Of the things you showed here…all are so cute…I especially like Number 1 and Number 5. I’d wear that wear that beautiful rosette around my ankle with my sandles..and Country Living, well that’s just a really cool magazine and their books are fabulous :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
I love the inspiration you give me. I’m thankful for your advice that is God given. My favorite thing is Yankee Candles. Always fresh smelling. My favorite cleaning product is Clorox Clean up. Fresh and clean smelling. You make me want to come to the mountains! Have a blessed year!
Love,
Tina
Aunt Ruthie,
I love your blog and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post. I have inspirational things in hanging in my stairwell and I am going to print those whole article and hang it up! I have a tendency to let my “I don’t feel like it feelings” get the best of me. This is just what I need to put a little bit of fire under my butt! Thanks so much! I missed your giveaway, but my favorite product is Slatkin Candles!
Love,
Megan
Boy oh boy was it ever perfect timing to read all your encouragement! And even though I may have missed the give away timeframe I am happy to share that one of my favorite tools is ….. yes ….. drumroll please- TA DAH Sugar Pie Farmhouse – this is true – so uplifting and caring -always kind and a powerhouse of energy!

Hi Ruth, Thank you for your blog and encouragement and prayers I asked for when my father was ill. Since he passed over Thanksgiving weekend, anything he gave or made for me, religious items….are special. When I was sweet sixteen, he took me to a very fancy jeweler and told me to pick out a diamond ring. He said if when I married my fiance couldn’t afford a ring, he wanted me to have one. That all came true, we have been married last November, 25 years. The ring has to be re-sized and I will pass it on to one of our daughters.I love home blogs, Beautiful by Estee Lauder, candles…….scented soaps, so hard to find these days. Thank you again for all your encouragements, hugs, Emelia.
Lordy! Lordy! I have found my sistahood! A friend told me about the website and right off the bat, you had my great grandmother’s Buttermilk Pie recipe that we’ve been searching forever to find! I will be a lifelong subscriber and have already forwarded to my sister. Our Mother, Grandmothers and Great Grands are all in heaven now. The “Farmhouse” surely brings back those wonderful memories of the women who made me who I am! Thank you Aunt Ruthie!!!
Thank you so much for this blog. I have been in kinda a rut lately. I am getting ready to pull myself out.
Thankyou so much for this post. It is just what I needed..to get myself up , be renewed, and get back into my life. I am going to go wash some sheets, clean my kitchen, and cook something wonderful, and be happy about it. thanks again.
Ilove your music on your website. Can you tell me who it is. the violins with your descriptions are so soothing and nice.
Thank you for the auspicious writeup. It actually was
a leisure account it. Glance advanced to far added agreeable from you!
However, how could we communicate?
Heya i am for the first time here. I found this board and I
find It truly useful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to give something back and aid others like you aided me.
Since you will spend a larger part of the entire day
in such a work place, personalizing the same won’t hurt.
You may also want to have a conversation with your doctor before you begin your new routine, especially if you have
an injury or condition that might affect your exercise plans.
You can also give a travel destination map to a coworker
who loves to travel.
