Girls! I just love this Pie Pan!
I want to recommend to you my favorite kind of pan to bake in, the Pyrex Pie Plate! I prefer to use a glass pan (or pie plate) with handles. I like to be able to see through to the crust, to see if it’s got that golden brown color that I like. It makes it so much easier to pull the pie in and out of the oven and of course to carry and serve it at the table.
If you’re interested in ordering the Pyrex Pie Plate I recommend my favorite online store Amazon!
Here’s some more pics, just for you ;)

I have a similar pie pan and I just love it…I love lemon pie, and I just love this recipe, I will be trying this for dinner tonight.
Wonderful post and video. Is this pie unbaked? Is it ok to have the raw egg yokes?
I love my Pyrex pie plates and have many of them in various sizes – I like to pick them up for less than $1 at yard sales, junk shops or Goodwill! I am always on the lookout for small glass pie pans – about the 4-6 inch size – they are great for making a sweet individual pie for a birthday girl or boy, or to give a little taste of home cooking to our elderly neighbor who lives all alone and is over 90! Wee pie plates are hard to find, so I grab them when I see them. Glass is perfect because it make a flakier crust – just the way it conducts the heat I think – and you can see if it is nicely golden, or needs a minute more of baking! I love your product reviews, Aunt Ruthie – peeking into your kitchen inspires me every time! Happy baking!
I too prefer glass for anything with a crust. I’m in need of a new pie plate, and this one looks perfect–thanks for your review!
I have that exact pie plate. it was my grandma’s!
Sista Ruthann,
I have several of my Mama’s and mother-in-law’s glass pie dishes…a pie does taste better cooked in glass….
A kitchen with aprons, vintage dishes, cloth napkins, delicious aromas just make a home a home…..a sweet Mama stirring the pots and the children, or grandchildren gathered around the table….what could be better?
Blessings to you and yours….your southern sista Betty
Hi Ruth Ann!!! Loving that pie! Great video! You are becoming more relaxed in front of the camera and letting your true sweet self shine through!! Way to go!! Thank you for all that you do!!! xoxo Desi Anne
I have two of these and plan on getting more. They are great for pies–pretty to look at, and easy to pick up in the oven. You have a big fan, here. one can never have too many pie plates, aprons, or good recipes! PJ
Wow. I love your site! This is my first visit here, as you can probably tell.
I personally can’t get by without my Pyrex pie dishes when baking pies.
Here’s the curious thing, though: My Mom has a round Pyrex cake dish. The other one broke years ago. She doesn’t use it much, but me, I wanted a complete set in which to bake a traditional two-layer cake. (Most of my family are not into cooking all that much — for them, a cake dish is a 9×13!)
So when I realized last year that my 1960s oven has seen better days, it occurred to me that it would be so much better to compensate for how unevenly it heats by baking cakes in a Pyrex dish — but all that’s on store shelves nowadays are the pie dishes!
I want to see all my baked items through those great dishes. If one side bakes faster, you can simply turn them around and easily watch them from the underside.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why Pyrex discontinued the very dish that started their company so many decades ago.
I wrote to them and they confirmed that the cake dishes are gone.
All that are left on the market are the metal kind. They get scratched and dented up in my crowded cupboards pretty fast.
Now I’m on eBay searching — and finding that the vintage Pyrex cake dishes are a pretty penny!
According to America’s Test Kitchen, Pyrex is the best brand pie dish to use for making pies . . . the price is great too!
I use these wonderful pyrex pie plates on spaghetti night instead of regular plates. I have a whole set of the cobalt blue pie plates and we just love them!
~Blessings~

I have 2 of these dishes one is 9″ and the other 10″. I use the bigger one when I make pumpkin pie that way when I put it in the oven it won’t slosh over the sides.
Love the video.
