Howdy Sugar Pie Darlin’s! Boy has my summer been a whirlwind of fun! I know I’ve been missing on my blog and Facebook but I think you’ll see why! I just have not had time to sit down for long! Between our out of town family visiting , road trips and a special birthday party I have been a busy honey-bee! My hubby and I took our daughter Summer and her sweet friend to the big Ol’ state of Texas and had a rootin’ tootin’ time! I found out that I LOVE Texas! Like the old theme song for Green Acres…”Land spreading out so far and wide…honey I love ya but gimme that countryside!” I love me some cowgirl boots, but didn’t get any this time.
Summer and her friend Bayley loved the pony rides! She is getting so tall this will probably be the last time she’ll be able to ride those little horse-ys!
I’d like a pair of each thank you very much! Such cute boots!
Loved the Stock Yards in old Fort Worth…such a cute western town!
There was just so much western character everywhere I looked! Cute cute sign for handmade boots!
Don’t mess with Texas! (I love sayin’ that!)
Then my sweet grand-baby Kade Austin turned one! We had a super fun time at a local indoor water park called Splash Country here in Branson, Missouri! Here I am with Kade’s other grandma…Peggy. I’m “Grammy” and Peggy is “MiMi”. My son Dusty (he’s also my fab Web site designer) and daughter in law Kimmy in the upper right corner presenting Kade with his very first birthday cake!
Kimmy did such a cute job decorating for the party~
Kimmy and Dusty are carrying on a Birthday tablecloth tradition that I did for each one of my kids. You take a flat white sheet and each year the birthday child would make a hand print (by dipping their hands in a thin layer of acrylic paint) then everyone at the party writes a message to that child in permanent markers. You keep adding to it year after year. It’s fun to see the hand size get bigger and of course when your kids get older they love to read all of the special notes that were written just for them. It’s a keepsake to cherish.
Kimmy later added the date and year as well as where the party was held. As you can see Kade’s hands were a too busy to stay flat for the hand-print! They are precious just the same!
Aunt Summer and Kade
Continuing my whirlwind summer, I rented another space, this time at the Spring Creek Antique Mall and Tea Room in Ozark, Missouri! It’s an itty-bitty spot but I’m so thrilled to be here! The tea room has THE BEST HOME-COOKED FOOD! (I love the Chicken Salad Sandwich and Strawberry Soup!! OH yeah! And the huge variety of homemade cakes and pies!!) Unless you get there early there’s usually an hour wait. The guests can shop while they are waiting for their name to be called. My little spot is directly across from a cute church pew where folks can sit to wait for their table.
Come take a look-see!
My Georgia friend Amy let me borrow this adorable saying…”Jesus knows me…this I love”. This quote just blesses my heart! (Thanks Amy!) I painted chalkboard paint on a vintage silver tray (one that was magnetic, not all of them are) added one of my old silver magnet spoons with an antique photo and copy of Amazing Grace from an old Hymnal. Then of course I wrote those sweet words with a white chalk marker.
Vintage Rakes…one says Grandpa’s Rake the other says Grandma’s. Very farm-y and would look cute with Fall decorations!
Three vintage heart pans with vintage spoon magnets and ephemera…photos and recipes. They would look cute hanging in the kitchen. It would be even more special to have your own mama’s or grandma’s handwritten recipes featured!
Every farm-style kitchen needs some cute eggs! These look and feel like the real thing!
I found this industrial metal drawer, made it into a chalkboard. I like chalkboards, can you tell?
I made this pie/cake stand from an old pie pan and a wooden candle stick holder.
I just love the warm glow from these primitive-style flickering battery candles.
These have timers that come on and go off the same time every day.
If you’re ever in Southwest Missouri you need to come to the Spring Creek Tea Room. It’s located at:
107 South 3rd Street Ozark, MO 65721
(417) 582-1331
And just down the street is my other little booth at The Feathered Nest.
Such a gorgeous shop with TONS of wonderful home decor items!

I’m soooo excited that my wonderful gal-pals Sara and Abbey, from Sweet Magnolias Farm, have become one of my advertising friends!
These darlin’s know Farmgirl style! They are so stinkin’ talented! I want to marry everything they make!
I own several of their farm-y flour sack towels…which I LOVE! Seriously, can you get any cuter than this? No!
Here are some items from their Etsy shop.
wanna marry it!
wanna marry it!
wanna marry it!
OH honey! Look at how sweetly well worn these little boy shoes are! Oh what stories they could tell! This is just a sampling of the AdOrAbLe things from Sweet Magnolias Farm shop! You gotta go see all the rest!
Well, Sugar Pies, I hope your summer is going well for you! I count you as wonderful blessings in my life. I never take for granted that you take the time to read my blog when there are a million to choose from and that you leave such precious comments that warm my heart! I’m sending you lots of hugs!
God Bless your darlin’ heart!
Love, Aunt Ruthie
P.S. I know many of you are missing my music! Me too!! My music server is not available anymore! boo hoo! If you know of another music player for blogs please let me know!!
Aunt Ruthie, So glad to see your new booth location at Spring Creek. I know exactly where your booth is located, and I can’t wait to see it. I have never got to try the Strawberry Soup and I must have some. I have been longing for a trip to Ozark,MO to visit the Feathered Nest and Spring Creek Mall. Now I have GOT TO GO! I love those little candles that are on timers, and the pie/cake plate is adorable! So glad you are having a great summer.
Blessings,Becky
Hi, Aunt Ruthie, Thanks for the update on what you’ve been up to this summer. If I ever get to Ozark, I’m checking out your booths for sure. I’ve noticed that you had mentioned a playlist before, and just this evening I saw one on another blog, you might check out.
It’s salls-country-life.blogspot.com and the playlist is from MixPod.com. Hope this helps.
Blessings
Oh Aunt Ruthie, your little booth is just adorable. Love the chalkboards and all the cute, homey sayings. Jesus knows me . . . this I love — precious. Thanks for sharing all you’ve been up to. You’ve been a busy girl! May God richly bless all your hard work :)
Hi Aunt Ruthie, it looks like you had a wonderful time.
Congratulations with Kade’s first birthday, my he has grown.
Your booth looks wonderful !!
Have a great day. Hugs from The Netherlands.
Love it all, as usual! And I am going to have to borrow that quote as well! What truth and comfort in that phrase. Enjoy the last couple weeks of summer!
Love your new sweet little shop at the Tea Room. Your blog is always sooooo inspiring and I have been in a real creative slump lately so thank you for that.
I am kinda liking no music. Sometimes the music distracts me from just enjoying your photos and lovely message
Hey, Aunt Ruthie! I just love the idea of the tablecloth with the hand prints for Birthdays. Those are the kind of memories that I hope to make when I have children. Your shop looks amazing! I would love to visit Missouri one of these days. My husbands extended family is from the area around where you live and I would love to see all the shops that you recommend one of these days. It sounds like you’re enjoying a wonderful summer! God bless!! ~ Jamie
Hi Aunt Ruthie! Thanks for sharing your busy summer with us. I love Texas as well and enjoyed the great pictures. My dad is from the great state of Texas, so spent many wonderful days there. Kade’s party was adorable! Your spot at the Spring Creek Antique Mall looks so inviting and just plain ole cute! Wish I lived near, so I could visit and shop. Many blessings from Still Woods Farmhouse!
AMAZING! I was just thinking about you the other day and boom, there you are. Aunt Ruthie – I wanted to thank you about your kind words on the passing of my dear son recently. I am still walking a dark road and thanks to words like yours I am clinging to Jesus. He had a special plan for my 24 year old angel – now I have a special guardian that watches over me. I miss him so :(
Again – I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to email me. It meant the world to me.
~dt~
All your items are too cute!
So good to read your update! Always a blessing to us ladies out here who are trying to make our homes better. You are a huge help in that regard! The saying, “Jesus knows me, this I love” has been in my email signature now for several years, and I have had comments back about it. Such a reassuring thought! Thanks for sharing your life and adventures with us. As for your shops, I’m thinking I may be there in the next few weeks. Can’t wait!
Sista Ruthann,
Another wonderful, interesting and beautiful posting! I always look forward to seeing what you’ve been up too….
The sign, ‘Jesus knows me this I love’ hangs in my kitchen not daughter Amy’s….not that it matters. It thrills my heart and soul each time I see it, which is many times a day!
Blessings,
Betty @ Country Charm
Hi Auntie Ruth,
Love your blog. I live in Indianapolis but was born in Waynesville at Ft. Leonard Wood back in 1958. Your blog makes me want to come back for a visit.
IT IS ALL SOOOOO DARLING. You have had a busy summer. Enjoy and God’s blessings to you.
“Jesus knows me, this I love.” Thinking this must become new artwork for the walls of our home. We are in the process of adding scripture wherever we can. This will fit in perfectly. Thank you for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed your time in Texas! You would make a great Texas girl! Come back any time!
It looks like you’re having a very happy summer! Happy first birthday to your grandson, Kade! I loved the tablecloth idea and pinned it on Pinterest. I enjoyed seeing all your wonderful crafty goodies and the links to your friend’s web site –lots of wonderful things to look at and dream about!
Lovely post Ruthie! Always a pleasure to stop by your virtual farm house! Blessings, Jaime
There may be a “million” other blogs, but your’s is the cutest! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those tea towels! I had to get me a “Sweet tea and Jesus” too cute too pass up! xoxo Amie
So glad you got to visit Ft Worth and our Great State of Texas !! I’m a Houston gal but I love FW and the Stockyard District … lots to see and do.
SO much more fun than Dallas … lol
Love your booth, wish I could “fly” up to the Ozarks right now. Hope we can make it up that way soon. Happy August !!
Aunt Ruthie, we are kindred sisters indeed! Those boots are a dream & I wanna marry your darling space at the antique & tea room. I’m in Georgia gal, but I do believe I would be your *best* (smile & wink) customer! I just love your creativity & creative use of chalkboard paint! How did we ever live without it?? ((smile))
Your grandson is darling & he is growing so quickly. So glad you & the sweet family & friends were able to visit Texas. I have never been there, but I do look forward to it one day. I’ve been a long time reader of yours& finally got my own blog & blogger account!! It’s been so fun writing posts! Please check it out when you get a chance. I love visitors! Have a sweet summer day~ ((Hugs)) Ivy Jane
I just love all your postings and I wish you would do a new one everyday…that`s how much I look forward to them! i`m not much of a traveler but I sure wish I could come visit your little shop and your home. I just don`t like flying, I think, because I`ve never been on a plane but the thought scares me! So, I will just dream and put myself in the middle of all your pretty pictures and keep reading…as long as you keep blogging! Thanks for doing such a wonderful thing for all of us who read your blog!
Hi Sweetie! I was so glad to see your post and see the birthday boy, adorable Kade! your daughters are lovely, and I’m sute they adore their nephew! My Grandbaby boy had his 2nd on the 21st.
I love Texas too, have dear friends there, near Houston. I’ve only been in the south. They took me to Galveston once, it was wonderful! I have a pair of gray boots in my Etsy shop!
Your booth looks great! What fun!
Sara and Abbey’s things are beautiful!
I was really disappointed when my Playlist disappeared, so I went with Mixpod. Try that, it’s easy to get it on your blog, has great music too! Good luck! I hope you keep on savoring your summer!
Be blessed!
Oh. My. Loveliness. What a fun summer you have had and surrounded by natural and woman-made beauty! Thank you for the sweet glimpses of your newest booth space. If you ever get a web store started up I’d love to order some of those cute battery candles. Till then it will just a blessing in my day to get to read a blog post of yours and thank you for the smiles!
Loved seeing Pawnee Bill’s Wild West advertisement on the caddy! That is where I went to school from K to 12 grade. Loved going to the Pawnee Bill Ranch. My grandparents remembered him and his foreman and would tell me stories.
My family loves Ft. Worth too. We hop on the train and go down there from OKC and stay a long weekend. In fact, it is time for one of those train trips!
I loved seeing the pictures of your booth and what you have created to sell. It’s so much nicer than the mass produced farmhouse style items you see in homeware stores. I left behind 3 silver trays at a garage sale last weekend because there was too much wear on the base of the trays. Darn it – I could have turned them into chalkboards! I have a picture frame chalkboard for advertising my cake stands at my market stall to which I glued a row of coasters with vintage style prints of birds. People keep wanting to buy it so I have been considering making some chalkboards to sell. I’ll have to look out for more silver trays and take a magnet along with me to test them when I go ‘hunting’ next time and I’m very tempted to add magnets to my vintage silver spoons too. Thank you for sharing so much inspiration!
Ruthie, I look so forward to all your blog post. Always makes my day. I love TX too, such a fun place. Glad you are having a great summer. I’m already looking forward to your cozy fall decor blog post Hee hee ;-)
Bless You
Wrapping up my book tour in L.A. this week and hoping to meet your sweet sister, Sherry. Maybe Cat, too. Loved reading about your summer. And your ‘Summer’ as well as the rest of the family.
Howdy aunt Ruthie!
I am DeFiNiTeLy going to check out your booths and those two shops that you’re in when my family and I are down there for Christmas this year! So excited!
Also, a music player I use is Playlist.com. They work very well for blogs!
As always, just love your post. Your summer looks like it has been a lot of fun!! My BFF and I keep saying one of these days we are going to make the trip from Okie City to Branson!! Would love to see your booth!! You look like you are having a lot of fun with it – and your crafts are SO cute!! The birthday party looked adorable as well!! These babies sure do grow up SO FAST!!
Hi!
I always enjoy seeing your blog, but this time was especially great. I’m so glad you came to Texas and loved being here. Those of us who live here, love being here, too! ;-)
Your little shops are so cute! I was wondering about the rustic candles with timer. Do you sell those, or can you tell me where to get some? I love them!
I’d love to come to your part of the country also!
Myra

Your little mini-shops are so cute…you should have your own store on Main Street, Disneyland!!!!
Ruthann, so good to find you again. I used to follow yours and Sherry’s blogs a couple years ago, and had a computer crash and lost everything.
Springcreek is a favorite spot for me, and you just can’t beat the tearoom for lunch! You are so right about the chicken salad and strawberry soup…the best! My husband even looks forward to a lunch trip to Springcreek!
Have a wonderful rest of the summer!
Your space looks so cute with lots of nice things for sale. You did a great job bringing the farmhouse look there! Jean
Happy, happy birthday to your sweet grandbaby!
Looks like you had so much fun in Texas. You both look too young to be Grandma’s. Hope I am that good looking when my children have babies. Kade is adorable and I love all the ideas for the cake holder. It looks like she made her own cupcake stand too. Too Cute.
Love the Birthday Tablecloth! I will have to do this for my grandson!

Dear Aunt Ruthie,
Spring Creek Antiques & Tea Room are one of my favorite stops. Even recently after a packed weekend at Branson I begged hubby for a quick stop by Spring Creek on the way back home (Joplin). I was soooo thrilled that I did. I was glued to your booth. : ) I purchased the “Jesus knows me this I…Love” silver tray. It now sits on a easel in my vintage dining room reminding everyone that passes through that He loves them too! I love using scripture when decorating our home and I thank you for making art a way to share the Word of God. Thanks also for putting the little note on the back of the tray so I could find this fun Blog.
The birthday pics of your grandson are so sweet and the wonderful tablecloth with handprints is a fantastic way to save the memories! I love the black and white top with eyelet trim you are wearing at the birthday party. Could you please tell me where you purchased it?
Keep up the creativity! God bless your busy little heart!
Sharron
Hi Ruthie,
What a great post, as always. :) Love all the pics!
I have watched Terry Savelle Foy on tv with her Dad, awesome!
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Many blessings to you and your family.

Aunt Ruthie,
I believe that MixPod.com can help you with a music player for your website. I sure do miss your musice. I would come here some days just for the music. Hope this works for you.
Ciao Cugina!
love love love!:) Silver Dollar City is a staple in our family:) Can’t wait for your fall posts !!:)
I love your website and blog Aunt Ruthie! Do you live in Branson? I have never been to Branson, and I can’t wait to visit when I retire! You see my Grandmother was a Branson and it was her Great Uncle Reuben Branson that Branson was named after. My parents have been there, and one day I will too!
Your pictures are beautiful and such an inspiration, and makes me feel welcome in your home and makes me feel like I am there! The coutryside I can see from your pictures are beautiful as well! Thank you for inviting us into your home!

The age limit on having fun in Vegas does not have
a limit. Don’t get discouraged when you are turned away, be persistent with out being a nuisance.
For those who intend to run after they have been taken out of jail, the consequences can
be rather devastating to say the least.
